  1. I actually woke up with the tube in. It was awful. I've never had surgery before and I think that they were talking to me like, "Everything went well...it's time to wake up". I opened my eyes and I could feel the tube in and it was like I couldn't breathe, but I knew that I could, but if felt as if I wasn't getting in air. But it only lasted brief moments as they must have given me more meds and I was out again. It was so fast, but I do remember it and I do remember NOT liking that feeling. GL!
  2. Congrats! Sorry that they had to poke around to find the port. Doesn't it feel great to get under 300?? I know the feeling and it's awesome!!!
  3. Jesus. So I didn't know or didn't remember. My son has been sick for the past 9 months.... I have more than enough on my plate than to remember everything about my band.
  4. I had no IDEA I had internal stitches... Hmph. Weird... glad I know now. LOL
  5. I don't know about anyone else, but I don't have stitches and definitely don't have what you have described.
  6. Hi there. Something is obviously wrong, if you haven't lost any weight since your surgery. Have you called your surgeon or nutritionist? You might want to go in and see your surgeon and have him/her check things out. Good luck!
  7. For sure, check your surgeon...but I was on clear liquids x 1 day, then liquids for 2 weeks (tomato soup, protein shakes, etc.) I tolerated all just fine. I was dying a few days before I could go to mushies and called the doc. They ok'd me one meal of mushies with the rest liquids. By now you are now ok to drink your protein shakes...but if you feel like you need more, don't hesitate to call your doc. Good luck!
  8. I was banded on 12/2 and the first few days was awful. I kept thinking..."why did I do this to myself?... I'm never going to eat normal again". Once I got over my emotional need for food I felt better. I'm a little over a month out and I've lost 36 lbs since surgery as of today (I lost 27 pre-op). I just had my first fill and OMG...what a difference! I wasn't hungry the first three weeks...then my hunger came back... and he filled me. I really have to make myself eat. It's great! Good luck ladies - it does get better!!!!!!! :tongue2:
  9. The very first thing I noticed was my necklace was hanging longer than usual. After that, I noticed the boobs...face...booty.
  10. I'm feeling great! Just had my first fill and am losing fast. I feel like I'm starting all over when I had the fill. I had to do the liquids, mushies, food...etc. Now, I'm on food again. LOL I just started exercise regimine a few days ago. Was okay'd to do sit-ups too! How's everyone feeling?
  11. Is your band empty when you come out of surgery? Yes. How long do you wait before your first and in between fills? I didn't have to wait long. My surgery was 12.02.08 and I had my first fill on 12.28.08. I have an appt for the end of January. My first fill was 2.8cc. How much saline does the band hold? Mine holds 10cc. Does anyone have a full band? Yikes, not me. If you ask your doctor to be aggressive with the amount he puts in your band for optimal weight loss will he/she? Absolutely. He will allow me to make most decisions within reason. Can you request a fill or does the doctor have to advise it? Well my first fill my doc recommended and during that appt we scheduled my next appt. He definitely makes it known that it's a individual thing and to let him know how I'm feeling in terms of hunger, weight loss, etc. He wants me to be happy and successful, so he's willing to do whatever it takes. I really love my surgeon.
  12. I had my first fill last Tuesday and it didn't hurt at all. Doc numbed me up with Lidocaine and that was it... I thought it was going to hurt a lot more. GL!
  13. Hiya! Was banded on 12/2 and am feeling pretty good so far. I'm down 7 lbs since the surgery so far. Anyways, just wanted to say hi to the other daredevils who are getting banded in the food filled month of DECEMBER!!!
  14. He is WONDERFUL! I mean he answers my questions...makes me laugh and calms my nerves. My surgery is in 2 days and I'm so excited! Yay! Dr. Liu and his office are FAB!
  15. Me neither! I'm getting banded on 12/2 and I start my pre-op stuff tomorrow 11/30, which consist of the EZ Prep, then fluids the day before.
