  1. I am about 30 days ahead of you on the same big birthday and in the same frame of mind...this is MY year ( I think!) I am the very beginning stages and would love to stay in touch
  2. Thank you for giving me hope of quick return to work. I am in beginning stages of banding, thinking, hoping, praying, consulting and one worry was recovery time as I have a new job with not a lot of PTO built up but a very understanding boss and a sit down job. You made me feel much better about this part of the banding.
  3. You are one week or so out from banding, any regrets? Anything you wish you had known upfront that you didn't? I appreciate your insights, I am scheduled for consultation in a couple weeks and want to have as much knowledge as possible before my appointment. Thanks!
  4. great questions, thank you! The metro area I live in has a couple different doctor options, any reason you chose the doctor you did?
  5. I never thought I would have weight loss surgery but a person I know, not really a friend, called me out of the blue a few weeks ago, told me had the band surgery done in April and has loss 77 lbs so far, he was my motivation to call for a consultation--if he can do it I think I can too. In a really freaky twist of fate or something else another friend sent me to a horoscope website for fun, it says on Nov 4 something will change that has been part of my life for a long time.....sure enough November 4 is the day he called me. I am taking it as "the sign!" I needed to move forward and everything will be okay. I am cautionally optimistic at this point. This website so far has been invaluable. Lots of great info and insights.
  6. I am new too and have lots of questions. Why did you decide on the band vs. bypass? Did your doctors give you good advice that led to the band? I am ready to be thin....I know this is not the magic pill and will require lots of work, self control, etc. but I have to do something to be healthier and happier with myself. I am open to all feedback, thoughts and insights. Thanks Lisa
