  1. Hi I'm hoping someone can help me please. My health insurer is Great West (now part of Cigna). I've been to see a surgeon, gotten my primary care doctor to approve the referral, had my Psych. eval done, Pulmonary clearance, and nutritionist clearance. All passed and said yes we think you should do this. Now I find out from Great West that I need to do medically supervised weightloss for 6 months (or more). My BMI is 40.0 I have Type 2 Diabetes, high blood pressure, GERD (reflux), asthma and have sleep apenea (been on CPAP for 5 years). I don't know what to do or what in the world medically supervised weightloss is?? Is my doctor going to eat with me?? :cursing: If anyone has any tips or advice or knowledge I would REALLY appreciate it! Thanks!
  2. Hi I just had mine done the Saturday before Thanksgiving. It took about 3 hours for testing and then an hour for the consult. The consult was the most embarrassing questions of my life about sex, life, family, sex. I was SO happy when I left!
  3. Congratulations on your day Billy hope you do well.
  4. Hi all, I've just recently begun the process to having the lap band procedure done. I've had one meeting with a very nice surgeon about 3 weeks ago, now I'm fighting my insurance on just the consult bill to get him paid correctly. That was Oct. 20, so far I've been to the polmonologist have to go back on Dec 5 for an EKG but he has granted my approval with all sorts of stipulations. Today I had my psychology appointment and then Wednesday (Thanksgiving Eve) I go see the nutritionist. December 1, I go see the suregon again, hopefully he will have everyones approvals by then to be able to submit to my insurance. I just wanted to say hello, if anyone has advice for me please let me hear it I want to know more than I need to know. Thanks!
