Anyone with BCBS FEP Experience?
I have federal bc/bs. I was banded August 2008. When I called the insurance told me they paid like any other surgery. I paid co-pay for all the pre test and doctors and ended up paying the doctor $150.00 and the hospital $1800.00 out of pocket. There were a few smaller bills for antheoligist(?). The only thing that concerned me, was that the hospital charged $23,000.00. I was only there 6 hours from start to finish. The $1,800 was my 15 percent after the insurance pays it's 85percent

FREE Nutrition advice
I have a question. I have a problem with high potassium. I have tried to find a substitute for milk. I thought the lactose free would be the answer, but found out it has the same potassium as regular milk. My lap band doctor says to eat more protein and my kidney doctor says eat less protein. I drink 6 scoops of biatric meal with two glasses of milk a day. So far I am doing ok, but my potassium jumped to 6.1 when I first started. If I try to drink it with water it upsets my stomach. Any suggestions?

New Spokane Lap Band Dr.
I was interested in this conversation because Dr. Trotter is my lap band doctor. He is not new and has done over several thousand surgeries. He also is an instructor to other doctors. My fills are free for at least the first year. I haven't asked beyond that. I think he is one of the best doctors I have ever had. If you can, find out when one of his siminars are and attend it. You can ask him these questions, because he teached them. His office is on Rowan in Spokane

Hi to all
Hi to the great 60's. I have been in the 50's group until I realized there was a 60's. I had my band on August 26, 2008. Did and doing great. I have lost 42lbs to date. I weighed in at 284. The questions and answers here are just a wealth of information. I have a home near Spokane WA, but in Palm Desert, CA for a few months of the winter. Can anyone tell me what a typical day of eating is for you at this stage. I have two of the energy drinks and one meal with no more than a cup of food at that meal. It is sometimes hard for me to figure out what to eat.
