I actually used to work for CareCredit when it was still a private company. They were then bought out by GE credit, I think? Not that it helps with your question any but they've been around for a long time.

I heard new news this morning. Octomom was at Disneyland Friday, Knott's Berry Farm Saturday signing autographs. Spent $1K at MAC. Must be nice. I'm sure the volunteer Angels of Mercy are happy to be getting money from outside sources leaving Octopussy's student loans to by gallons of lipstick for her mug!!

I'm a Kaiser member also. To tell you the truth I didn't even check with them I started with a BMI of 38 with no co-morbs. From reading on here I've seen several Kaiser SoCal members mentioning an outrageuos 50 BMI being required! The best thing would be to check with your doc and be ready to fight! Good luck!!

The peso has also gone way down, that's why the pieces have dropped in dollars. I just went to Dr. Aceves for a fill on Saturday and the cost for the flouro was only $60 instead of $75 because of the exchange rate. As for why I chose the band over the sleeve, I was not interested in cutting off a perfectly good part of my body. I realize it takes longer to lose the weight and you have to work at it, and it requires follow up but I was OK with all of those things. With the band everyone has their individual "sweet spot" yet with the sleeve it's an irreversable one size fits all. That just seems odd to me. The potential for revision from band to sleeve is there but not the other way around. I'm just a chicken, what can I say! LOL. With that being said, Dr. Aceves is the best choice for either (and yes I'm biased ) I believe he is doing more sleeves then bands now because of the demand. The day of my surgery I was the only band and there were 2 others getting sleeved.

You did great without getting one! I was hoping I wouldn't need one either, BLAH! I bounced between 242 and 245 for 3 weeks until I finally decided on a fill. Tomorrow will be a week since the fill and as of this morning I'm down to 237. It was very strange how I seemed to be able to eat all of a sudden. We're back on track now!

Only in America, via TMZ: We’ve learned her dad is the purchaser of the 2,583 square-foot house for Octo. It’s located in La Habra, near where OctoGrandma lives now. It has four bedrooms and three bathrooms, a large master bedroom with a walk-in closet and a large backyard. It’s listed for $564,900. The buyer apparently paid near asking price. It’s listed by Mike Patel of Prudential Realty in Anaheim Hills in the O.C. We’re told the deal was just inked and it will close on Friday. Sources also say the “substantial down payment” came from money that OctoMom has been scoring over the last few weeks. As one source put it, “the money has been coming from all over the place — $15,000 here, $25,000 there.” We’re told the seller is financing the deal. We’re told Octo will either move in over the weekend or early next week.

Diva, thanks for enlightening Tex :laugh:. Also, in addition to the band itself causing restriction in some, some surgeons actually add saline at the time of surgery. OOoooo, wouldn't that be fun if we COULD do that TO people? HAHA

I too have become so aware of what goes in my mouth I haven't bit my fingernails since I've been banded! LOL I used to bite them for as long as I can remember. Now I'll be thinner with nice fingernails

Saturday I'll be 10 weeks post-op and a few weeks ago I noticed discomfort with my port area, not really pain. At this point I've come to the same conclusion that your husband has. I found that if I slouched in chair at all, it would become tender, not as much padding to cushion it? I have since been watching my posture (sitting up straight) and the discomfort has gone away! Scientific? Heck no, just my retarded opinion, LOL

What a load of BS! That's why you see so many people on here talking about sliming and PB'ing. Instead of using it as a tool, they use it as a crutch. Good job to the original poster for using the band the way it was intended. If you are still losing there is NO reason to get a fill.

Wow, your post could have been me! I was so sure I was going to be the one in a million that wasn't going to need a fill! Crazy expectations. This Saturday will be 10 weeks post-op and I will be getting my first fill. We can do this, we just need stick to it and EXCERCISE!!!

I was a big beer drinker!! All kinds, not into wine tasting but bring on the micro-brews!! So sad, I miss it:frown: That's how my husband knew I meant business, when I was willing to give it up forever. I have since switched to white wine because the cold seems more refreshing then red. I just watched the second half of the interview, have a few comments: 1. Everytime she pushes that bottom lip out further to pout and gives the sad eyes, I want to just slap her! 2. After watching both days, I STILL thinks shes a total childish moron incapable of properly caring for 14 children. 3. EXTREMELY PISSED OFF that I noticed her children go to Whittier Christian School. AND if the money that is going for tuition went to a house she would probably still have one.
