  1. After lap band surgery, how long until you were able to go back to work? Drive? Thanks.
  2. Hi Zaggie,

I like Dr. Bali and Gina at his office is amazing! I have had a great experience w/ all of the staff really. The first consultation was fairly straightforward...more informational than anything. Depending on what your insurance requires, he may refer you for a consult w/ a dietician and a psych eval. I have tricare and they are covering 100%. One of the benefits of being military. Keep in touch and let me know how it goes. My surgery is next Friday at St. Francis.

  3. Hi everyone, I've just joined this site and looking for info. about my upcoming banding on 11/14/08. I'm also in West Virginia, so it's good to see other Moutaineers here! If anyone has time, I'm specifically interested in whether you had a throat scope done prior and what to expect. Also, recovery times as far as returning to work. I know it's probably different for everyone, but any input would be appreciated. Thanks! Ally
  4. Thanks for the reply. My surgeon has said that if it's done on Friday, I should be back to work by Monday. Since I've started a new job, I'm hoping this is the case. But, the more threads I read, this seems unlikely. I'm a social worker and can't miss much work.
  5. Did you have to have a scope done prior to being banded? My doc requires one to check for hernias, though I don't have any symptoms. Is this something that is done under general anesthesia (sp?)? I didn't think much of it until I started reading on line about it and now I'm worried it will take a long time and/or I won't be able to drive myself home.
