  1. My surgery was scheduled for May 15th, and I got the approval from the insurance, so its a go!!!!! I can't wait!
  2. Its hard, but I eat a salad just to give me a bit of filling. BUT OHHHHHHHHHHH when it comes time to do the liquid only, it will be hard, but its getting better.
  3. try the 5 hour little energy drinks. They don't have the carbonation and are low on cals. I usually take half a bottle in the morning and it works just fine.
  4. My surgery date is May 15th with Dr. Rosett, Im not nervous about the surgery, just making sure that I lose the 8-10lbs beforehand is whats bugging me. I been TRYING to do the slimfast diet before the actual 2 weeks so that I can get used to it, its hard, really hard. Are you going to the sessions?
  5. I would just in case. When they told me about shrinking the liver because of the fat and the possibility of it bleeding and causing an infection was more than enough to convince me! Good luck!
  6. Smoker's need the patch, Drug addicts need methadone, some people need psychologists, women need birth control, and others need WLS. If there is a tool available to HELP, then why not. It may be hurtful NOW when someone says it, because I've had the same reaction from my Grandmother and some friends (not to the extreme) but hurtful nonetheless, and I reply with the above. Regardless, as others said here and I'm sure its the sentiment of many, this isn't for her sister's approval! She needs to do this for herself to help herself! If this is what SHE wants, forget who stands in her way. They aren't there to help her catch her breath or to help ease the pain in her joints. Are they gonna cook heathly for her? I mean we never please people all of the time, but if it pleases you, then that's all that matters. I really hope that she finds her way. I know I did despite what ever criticism I've encountered. It's time to be strong for yourself!
  7. GET IT, GIRL!!! Man, I do give you props! Don't give up, you are a strong woman!
  8. Congrats, all!! Im so happy for you!
  9. Hello all! This is my first and definitely not my last post.....I got my surgery date last week for May 15th (God willing)!!! I'm in Chicago and going through Mercy Hospital, Dr. Rosett is my surgeon. Honestly, Im sick and tired of being overweight. I lose then gain then lose then gain 2x. I have my psyche appt tomorrow and then the dr appt the week after. I've started my not so fun diet because I have to lose 8-10 lbs prior to the surgery and 2 wks before the surgery I have to do the liquid (slim fast) diet. Im so excited about finally being able to break out of this "jail"!!!!
