How are the banded Notorious Novembers???
I guess I should have known that! You sure have had a rough time. You should soon be doing better........you deserve it after all you've been through. You don't have so much to lose so once your body adjusts to the band, you should sail along. You've had a good loss for not being so heavy to start with. I hope you stop getting sick with it very soon.

How are the banded Notorious Novembers???
Ah, well you are right, no gain is good. And, it is so difficult to eat right with people around and lots of activities going on. You travel lots!! I am heading for the airport in about 4 hours. No sleep tonight!! I weighed today and I'm the same, but maintaining the new 2 pound loss so I hope to keep it off these 2 weeks away!! Have a great weekend and get your exercise in!!! I wish I could walk more. My need for spinal surgery makes that impossible right now!! Good luck to everyone while I'm away and lots of successes to all!!!

different medications?!? (asprin, etc.)
I actually don't have gout (don't think so anyway!!) I have severe spinal disease and bad arthritis in the knees and back and sometimes get inflammation really bad especially if it gets really damp. This is why I take the nsaids. I do find that diet effects it and when I stay on a healthy diet, especially a cleansing diet, I see a huge difference. I was also diagnosed with fibromyalgia. I am going on a trip for two weeks so I will be bold and say that I never believed it was a true disease. I know there will be loads of response to that statement. I do know that many people have true pain and suffer for one reason or another. I hope you get your meds worked out. I forgot to discuss it with my surgeon as well when I went for my two fills. Good luck to you!!

different medications?!? (asprin, etc.)
I worry too as I have to take 800 mg of ibuprofen quite often when the inflammation flares up too much. I would like to see more information about what we could do to prevent problems. I always try to be sure that I take it around a meal. I use the patch sometimes, but I guess that can effect the stomach as well and it really does not seem to help me much.

I had migraines from the age of 12 till menopause as my mother did. I soooo looked forward to it!!!!!! I still get them occasionally, but seldom rather than most of the time. I sympathize with anyone who does get headaches frequently.

How are the banded Notorious Novembers???
Congrats on breaking the plateau!! I know you're happy! But it seems like you throw up often. Is it possible your band is still too tight?

Keeping it a secret?
And so the name............"I walk the line"!! Very appropriate. I told lots of people too. I just say "Yes, I'm losing, slowly, but surely like I'm supposed to be doing. I still have to work at it. It doesn't just fall off." Best wishes!! Don't feel pressured. You will do great anyway and everyone will be saying "wow" in a short time!

How are the banded Notorious Novembers???
Thanks! I leave 5am Mt time for Africa so you better weigh in early because I'm checking before I leave LOL!! I swear I do better when I stay off the scale. It's sooooo slow when I get on all the time and it never moves. When I weigh just once a week, any loss, even a half a pound seems ok!! I will check n when I get back and compare notes with you. I hope I maintain while on vacation as I will be even more sedentary on this vacation. I'm with you on the pizza, pasta and Italy cuisine! I'd go nuts. Like in New Orleans, I just had to have the Beneits (sp), bread pudding (yes bread, goes down easy in that yummy sauce!), and alligator bites!! I'm glad I don't like much of the African cuisine.

How are the banded Notorious Novembers???
I spoke too soon!! I was down 2 pounds today. I had been staying off the scales for the past 5 days. Now I have 4 more pounds to reach that magic number too!! Maybe you will drop too if you stay off the scale a few days!!

How did you set your goal weight?
How long do you have to stay in the hospital? How much are you having done? You will be so happy in a couple months!!!

How are the banded Notorious Novembers???
I confess to never working out either. I occasionally get on the exercise bike. I try to do my physical therapy exercises a few times a week, but they are not a work out. Exercise causes me too much pain, but I'm hoping that improves as time goes on as I really know I need it.

How are the banded Notorious Novembers???
Your trips to Germany and Italy sound more exciting, but I'd definitely gain some weight there!! I am checking your ticker out and you've lost a couple more pounds than me, got banded about the same time and weigh 2 pounds less!!! Are you still losing steadily or are you at a plateau like me right now?

Too tight after flight???
It doesn't happen to most people. Most have no problems flying. Those who do just have to take it easy for a couple days as mentioned. There are only a very small percentage of people who may have enough of a problem to require an unfill. I assume it is caused by the changes in altitude. My Dr. says flying should cause no problems. Ask yours and see what yours says.

How are the banded Notorious Novembers???
I went nuts with sweets while in New Orleans for my son's wedding. I've been stuck at the same weight (up a pound actually) for several weeks. I could probably use another fill, but my trip to Africa is April 4th and I need to wait until after that. I know I won't eat too much there!! I'll probably schedule a fill for early May.

How did you set your goal weight?
I was wondering why it is always necessary to be totally unfilled before surgery. Congratulations on your great success!! And, good luck with your lift. I hope you report on how that goes. I'm scared of the pain!!

banded on the 26th, wanna cry
PhaZyme works better and faster than gas x for most people.

Phentermine
I took it for 6 months and maybe lost 4 pounds!!! I only kept taking it because it gave me a bit of energy due to the amphetemine effect. Even if it works for you for appetite control, if you take it all the time, your body adjusts and it quits working after a couple months. Good luck with it anyway!!

Update for me
I too am sorry you are going through all this. It's so difficult, and so easy to start eating for comfort, when stressful times hit us. I have been grazing some myself lately over some stressful stuff. The thing is, we are just going to be so much more depressed if we go back to eating bad and gaining tons of weight. Find a cheaper place to get a fill and do your best to deal with the stress in a more constructive way and I will too!!! I am traveling to Africa and have to wait until I return for another fill which I know I need now, but I am scared of problems while gone and don't want to seek care in West Africa!!! I know I won't overeat there anyway! Good luck to you. I hope you husband finds work soon and life gets easier for you. You have a beautiful little girl!! She must lift your spirits some!!

Lap band erosion
My Dr. always looks for and removes hernias at the time of surgery. I did not have any, but so many of his patients do. It seems like so many of the people who have problems after a few years out never had good restriction. I am wondering if the changes, "improvements" in the lapband, that were made in early 2008, may help prevent many of these erosion problems and other problems that occur after a few years. I know I have had good restriction and no problems thus far and sure hope it continues. I feel bad for those who have gone through the procedure and now have all these problems. I surely do not want an invasive surgery such as the sleeve or GP due to the band failing.
