I am not a smoker and I have never been. I don't even know why it is a requirement to stop smoking in order to get the lapband. What I do know is that most of us had the lapband done for health reasons; and some to improve their look. Isn't that the same reason why people quit smoking? Why would you do one with out the other?

I had my surgery on Nov 3rd as well. My cycle is NEVER late(unless I am prego) I was so scared but I was not sure why being that my hubby is over seas and I haven't had sex.. Funny huh. Well I to haven't had my cycle. I talked to my Doc and he said that sugery can some times throw your cycle off track. News to me. but maybe that is what is happening to us.

With out all the extras. The answer is yes. The more restriction you have the less you will be able to get in, unless you expand your tummy. But it is not healthy as you guys already know. But hell what is healthy now a days!!!!

Kossde, How in the heck did you lose so much weight? I have been banded since Nov 3rd. 08 and I have only lost 11 pounds and put 5 of them back on..

I am so pissed that Thanks Giving is 2 days away. I went shopping for all the food and everything; thinking that todays appointment was only going to be a post op follow up. I even called and asked 3 days ago. The nurse said I would not have a fill. Well guess what. The doc put in 4 cc. into my 8 cc band. That is not the problem at all. I was actually very thankful.... until his decided to put me back on a liquid diet for 3 DAYSSSS.. That means no Thanks Giving food for me. I want to lose the weight more then anything. But ohhh I could taste that food in my mouth.. This is so bitter sweet.

I am working out alittle walking long walks at a higher speed. That is why I am so surprised. I was looking at the weight that you all lost and it seems about the same as mine. I guess I am not doing as bad as I thought. Thank you guys so much. I will post again and let ya'll know how I am doing.

I just had my surgery on Nov. 3 rd. I lost some weight the first week or so, but since I have gained 2 pounds. I dont know what is wrong. I can eat any kind of food and it takes me almost the same amount to get full as before the surgery. I called my Docs. office to tell them what was going on but his nurse told me to stop eating so much! I mean if it were that easyl I would not have gotten the surgery. I am working the best I can ( I am still alittle sore) so I should be dropping something. I am so stressed this almost seems worthless. The nurse also said that I haven't gotten a fill so that is why I am eating as much. Gosh I dont know if I might be one of that percent that the lapband doesn't work for. I feel like crying so hard. Can someone tell me if this is at least kinda normal. Am I expecting to much to soon?

I also have this drink and I love it!

I lost 15 pounds since Nov 3rd. Hey yall I slept on my belly last night. It was the greatest sleep I have gotten in awhile.!!!:thumbup:

I have teicare and I didnt have anyhealth problems other then being over weight. I was 225 at 5'1". I didnt have a problem getting appproved as a matter of fact my I got approved 1 weeks after I saw the surgon the first time.

I am now over my dry mouth and it is 3 days into my banding. Thank God that was pretty gross.:rolleyes2:

I got banded on the 3 rd. as well. Be happy that you can use the bathroom cause it is better thennot pooping. I have not gone at all it sucks. I was not hungry the first day but of course I was drugged up. But when I got homw I was so hungry. I sipped on water and shakes but last night I couldnt take it any more so I ate a bit of peanut butter. It helped a lot. This morning I started with water and half an egg. which by the way took for ever to ate. I know this is not the way the Dr. wants us to do it. But people are different and I was wake and dizzy. Now with that 1/2 egg I feel great. Just hang in there it will get better.

I got banded on the 3rd. I am just starting to extract gas from my body on my own. Walking helps a lot. My tummy is bloated like heck. But it is slowly going down. I also use gas x strips. But I lost 15 pounds so it is so worth it!

I am only one day into my banding but I have cotton mouth as well. I for got to ask my m Doc. Before I left the hospital. When some one finds out about this pls let me know

I am just on clear liquids. How long does it take for this to go away.

Wow are you excited or what. That is so funny. I got ,y banding down yesterday and guys I feel so great. I was a little out of it all day yesterday but it was cause I was drugged up. When I woke up from surgery They had not giving me any pain killers cause they wanted me to be awake to tell them when and how much is confy for me. I didnt take long before i want into la la land. And I tell you it was great. I had 1 staple on each little cut which was about 1/4 of an in. and the bigger cut was about 1 1/2 in. It had 3 staples which got taken out this morning before I left the hospital. I am so happy no words can decribe. I ate the hospital chick broth which was very good and it filled me up. It was about 1/2 cup before I put it down. I thought to myself. I would have had to have veggies and noodles and a lot of meat in this soup just days before. Either way. I know I will be healing up very soon. My cuts only feel like a little burn or stinging rather. and when the hydrocodon wears off it feels like alittle bit of internal brucing but it is so worth it. Guy I have 5 kids at home and I am up taking care of them without straining myself and with no pain. If I can do that and I just got it done yesterday. Imagine how easy it is. But I do have gas can anyone tell me was is up with that.

I just got banded yesterday. I also hve coton mouth. It sucks cause I feel like drinking something all the time. But my tummy can't hold anything and mort diff not as much fluids as my body wants. Is there anything I can do about this. And can someo ne explain to me what causes it.

I will be having my surgery in about 4 1/2 hrs. I am so excited but scared that I can not sleep... Pls pray that I come out of this ok with a safe return to my family.

:biggrin::thumbup: I got approved today and my banding date is on Nov 3 rd. I was so excited but everything is kinda happening so fast. I got to pre op tomorrow. My tummy is in my throat. I will be going through this by myself cause my hubby is over seas and my family is on the east coast so I am here by myself. My kids will be kept by a friend that lives in Ok. She is coming down to help for a couple of days. But after that I am on my own. I am so so so scared.. But happy at the same time.

I am going through tricare as well. I didnt have to do any of that. Actually the whole process for begaining to today when I was approved took 3 weeks. I have my surgery in monday the 3rd. No classes except for the nutrition class which they r going to let me take after the surgery. I weigh 225. I dont have any co-mor. I didnt have a sleep test or anything. No high blood pressure. Nothing! I just saw my PCM got a referal saw the surgon last week and this week I am approved.:biggrin:
