Candra the thing with the band is that it does give you a jump start and it does give you restriction so it helps. I only lost like 10 pounds after surgery but it was enough to make me feel good, go down a size and also get to my lowest weight in 12 years!! Not I am down another 8 and while is it slow I have gone down three sizes so that give me motivation to keep going.........this last fill has been a good one. Not quite my sweet spot but I definetely get full sooner than before and 5 down in four weeks is good for me........... The band is worth it. I wish I was in vacaville tonight!! I would love to go out with y'all!! LOL. I still need to stay inside until tomorrow to make sure my eye infection is clearned up otherwise I would drive over tonight so I don't have to get up so early tomorrow........... Who is coming tomorrow??

Hey Nicole have fun at Six Flags!! Nicole your close to goal so 4 is really good. I think they will be happy with that. I only lost 5-6 depending on what the scale says in the morning........LOL. I think that is about right for use slow losers!! I lost 8 the first fill, only two the second fill, and now 5-6 this fill. I hope with a bit more of a fill I can be under 200 for the next fill........your good!! Ok ladies tomorrow morning than..........

Makes sense Candra but the weight/exercise things is very interesting!! So that might be why Riley can't lose when she get "crazy" with her exercise!! She slowed it way down and than lost.............. YEa age does slow the metabolism down is what my doc said........but I agree that some of us start slow. Nicole I also didn't lose well in high school. I gained even with PE everyday and sports. In college if I fastes for a few days I would go down fast. But now I could do the same thing and wouldn't lose a thing........than I went to greece for a year and hated their food!! and lost like 40 pounds in about five weeks. That would never happen now. But I was also told all these ups and downs and not eating like I did messed my metabolism up. Dr. Baggs was saying that when you spend years dieting that you get the insulin resistence thing..................and than it really is hard to lose. He explained it more complicated than that by it is some chemical thing that goes with being fat!! I am sure I have/had all the insulin mess when I started.................hopefully it gets less and less as I lose. Ok I am working from home today but I do think I will be fine coming to Pinole tomorrow. I wil just probably leave once I am done so I can get back to work tomorrow........

Yep I had all the test in November and they could not find anything except BP and cholesetoral.................I won't waste my time...... Yep i am a slow burner for sure!! Is that age related I sorta think so. The fastest losers seem to be the youngest........... I am finally losing just really, really slowly......ready for a fill again.

Oh I am home from work today but working on paperwork from here. I have an eye infection from my contacts I think.....going to kaiser later today to find out what is going on. I thought it was pink eye but now they think my contact has a small tear and that it is what caused the problem. i didn't see or feel it until my eye was already red...........I had to throw out my contacts and get new one today. I just have to get rid of this red eye so I can go back to work and get to Pinole on Thursday.........I am taking an antibiotic soo hopefully by tomorrow I will be good as new...............but today it is redder than yesterday . Maybe a little worse before better?? I hope. I am still working from home but not getting credit for it!! LOL. I just don't want to get behind and I have my lap top from work here so I am typing court reports today.............. Just can't go out because I look crazy with one red eye and one normal one........

No not band related. Pink eye of all things............got it from one of my clients that I was holding last weekend. I had to get antibiotics. Hopefully by Thursday I will be doing better. Band is fine? Just no restriction today!!

Well I was suppose to get 1cc for the second fill but he went with .5 instead............I was hoping to get the 1cc back that I missed. I am only at 5.5 right now...............hoping. Well if I don't lose the 2 pounds again my weight lose won't be so awesome!! LOL. I think I will be down 2 more by thursday............... I had to come home sick again though today. Supervisor sent me home.........so I gotta be better for Thursday or I won't fill like making the drive over there!!

I am having my period too and up 2 pounds Chris. I am also hoping by Thursday I will be back to my original weight. I think I want 1cc this time. I am down 5-6 pounds and I feel like I am able to eat anything the last couple of days.............

Morning ladies. HEaded in to work............it is gonna be a really HOT week!!! Ahh........I hate the head. We are all headed over for a fill this week so I have a short work week which I like!!

No I don't remember any fasting for pre op laps........you will probably be getting a EKG too........the line for that was long............in sacramento

ARghh...........Nicole. That sounds crazy painful!! Having babies is hard enough...............I am SO GLAD you and Auds are both ok...........really scary and you still went under again!!

Nicole is young and strong!! LOL. I am 38 and have had health issues............you can't totally judge by one person everyone handles it different..........I just got unlucky..........but still would do it again!!

Jes I had scarring on my lungs from a really bad case of pneumonia. I also couldn't do the spirometer thing very well so I sorta knew it was coming...............I panicked when I couldn't breathe and you know that makes it worse. I was the only one in the recovery room that had the problem so I think it is hit and miss..................I felt like an elephant was sitting on me...........well that was the band in me felt like an elephant I guess........but it got better pretty quick...........It hurt to breathe in deep and I was a wimp and didn't want to do it................my nurse was great she kept talking to me telling me to relax and slow down............I would still do it again becuase it was a short term thing it didn't last forever..........just the worst part for me......

I had a really hard time breathing after surgery too. Really, really hard time..............scared me. It took me about an hour to finally get to where I could breathe without thinking about it and forcing myself to breathe.......in and out.........in and out..........that was the worst part of surgery for me.......once I could breathe it wasn't to bad.............I think after surgery I just didn't want to breathe on my own it hurt to bad? But I was sorta prepared becuase I read all the surgery stories on lap band talk before hand. Some people get the breathing thing and I was one of them...........

I actually think that weight has to do with family issues.....overweight people tend to have unresolved issues............usually anger that can't be expressed. I know for me the more weight I lose the mother angry I am getting about stuff..........just realized that the last couple of weeks. I have a pissy attitude about things than the next thing you know I want to cry for no reason...........I guess all those feelings pushed down with food are getting all cleaned out of my system. I am getting angry at stuff I would have ignored before. I am tired of getting dumped on or people just assuming they can get me to do things for them with guilt trips..........I am thinking I must have let this stuff slide before otherwise why are people just assuming I will do what they want without asking me first?? Ok my daughter is home and my house which was clean last night is torn up. I am trying to get her to clean up her messes............I guess I will have to supervise since she can listen to instructions.

I will check my card too. But so far I think I am ok with my bank............

Yea I learned to take care of myself too and I am glad. My sister is married now but has a hard time working full time since she is not used to it. She moves around from job to job. ............her husband makes good money so he doesn't care. But I call her flighty since she is never content to stay in one spot for very long. Yea my mom is an approval seeker. I don't care about my uncle he is radical like my mom. I know where he is coming from and I told her I don't care what he says. My uncle is very old school he was also against my sister getting lasik on her eyes that is is just him...........but my mom always wants people to approve of her and her family so she talks to much. this is typical for my mom just a different situation. I told Dr. Baggs about her before surgery and he laughed and said he would explain things to her.......she thought I was getting a removable device installed through the mouth!! LOL. He laughed and said he would explain it ot her for me!!

My mom has been driving me crazy asking how much I have lost.........I think she thought it would be faster and she is trying to sign me up for this diet program in september. I keep telling her no I am already doing a program and I trust the surgeon. She got upset with me last night and told me I never listen to anything she says................she is on this really strict vegan thing and even though she is think she is still lumpy if you know what I mean. She constantly puts Kaiser and Robin down and keeps talking about how to many protiens is not healthy and meat eating will kill ya. She told me if I eat meat I will die of cancer even it I taste it ladies!! So you get the idea of how radical she is in her thinking!! Granted I don't like meat but she is driving me crazy with her trying to know more than the bariatrics program and trying to tell me they don't know what they are doing. Her brother who is a doctor has said from day one he doesn't like the band and that it doesn't work.........he has patients who didn't do well with it.........and so she is always worried what is is gonna say about my weight loss so far. She also was talking to a doctor friend of hers last weekend and he told her I should have just lost it on my own............seriously she worries so much about what other people think and is driving me loony right now. Minding her own business would be appreciated !! :-) I think she doesn't like slow weight lose is a success cause she is driving me crazy thiw weekend.

What is funny is that my sister doesn't like anyone getting more attention than her even thought we all know it wasn't fair how we grew up. Even now she is upset cause my daughter is closer to my parents than her two boys. I like in sacramento close to my parents and she lives in denver colorado?? Family dynamics are weird. She told me that she didn't like being the golden child cause there were to much expectations on her. But she sure did eat up all the attention and in my family money she got. My brother and both had to work for everything she never had to work my mom got her a credit card that my parents paid off every month for her. My sister never had to get a job but I started to work in 8th grade and worked at some job all the way through until now!! LOL. My sister just doesn't get it.............even as an adult she doesn't get it. But she is no longer the goldern child anymore............except she is skinny which in our house almost guarentees you will be a favorite..........she is having a hard time with no being my parents favorite right now.

Well the one good things about us girls who carry the weight in our lower half is that we don't usually have to lose the whole 10%!! But I am having a hard time finding other postive things about being bottom heavy!! LOL. I have been eating watermelon alot this weekend. In fact I have no more and want some...........1 cup is like 15 calories...........I know it is a slider but I had it for dinner last night and didn't get to hungry later. Who knows.............
