They say you shouldn't drink while you eat, not that you can't. I still takes sips while I eat.

almost 3 months out and frusrtated
Netti I'm with you. I was banded on November 19th. I know it is not as long as you have been. But it seems like I am still hungry and can eat anything I want still. I am wondering if this was huge mistake. I feel not different either other than the scares on my stomach.:whatchutalkingabout

I want to get banded but....
I did not think that would be a problem. I never even had any blood work done before my surgery. No tests at all.

2 weeks post-op: Ache in stomach & hiccups
Hi, I was also banded the 19th. I get a side ache on my left side after I eat. Have not called yet about it. Have either of you lost any weight yet? Seems I can still eat like I did before surgery. Wondering if this surgery was a good idea. Any of you have doubts?

How did everyone do at Thanksgiving?
That's great big papa. Nothing tastes as good as skinny feels.

How did everyone do at Thanksgiving?
I am suppose to be on Mushies. Had turkey, mashed potatoes, stuffing, green bean caserole, sweet potatoes and some spinach salad. Definatley did not eat what I would normally, Oh and a small slice of pumpkin pie. I feel so sick right now. Is it normal to feel this full? Did I screw up and make the band move? Is that possible? Or do you have to throw up to have it slip?

Anyone Being Banded in November???
Jewel, I was 1:00 to with Michealson. You will be out around 4. It goes by fast. The last one is normally the easiest surgery. They shedule the more complicated ones early. So feel at ease that yours is at 1:00. You will do fine. Everyone there is so nice. Good luck and I will talk to you soon. I was freaked out and it was nothing. Ask them to give you something for the anxiety before surgery. When they give you the IV, it helped me. Oh I had my pre-op today. Michealson was great let me start mushies a day early. Whooo hoo.

straw???
Check some of the other posts. Many have used straws and it is ok. Every doctor is different. Some on here like to think they know it all.

Did anyone start mushies earlier than they were supposed to?
No not yet. But I am with you on this. I had surgery on the 19th and last night I could not sleep cause I was so hungry. I called the Dr office this morning and they told me to up my protein drinks. (big whoop) I am dying to eat something as well. I never tought I could feel so full with protein drink but still be hungry. You know what I mean? I figure I have one more day (tomorrow) to be on liquids. I am having scrambled eggs on wednesday morning. I can't wait. Hang in there it is almost over. But I do feel your pain. I am right there with you.

1 day post op stomach ache
HA I to was running to the bathroom one night. I took some of those chewable Amodioum AD (sp) tablets and have been fine ever since. Just want the shoulder pain to go away. Also started having lower back pain in the morning from sleeping on my back at night. I am a tummy sleeper. I am hungry but when I drink my protein shake my stomach is full but I still am hungry. Weird. Guess it is gonna take some time getting use to this. I now know what they mean by it is gonna take some time to train your brain. Tummy is full brain is not.

straw???
Hmmm I was told differently and have been using a straw since right after surgery when the nurses gave me one.

1 day post op stomach ache
I to was banded the 19th and have the pains as well. Finally got some sleep last night. I used a heating bad under my left shoulder which helped with the gas pain and I was able to sleep. Not really hungry yet. Just wish the gas pain in my chest and shoulder would go away. I have been moving a lot and walking that seems to help a little. Sounds like there is quite a few 19th bandsters. Nice to have others to talk to about it all.

Uncomfortable feeling in chest
Wow, I thought there was something wrong with me. Feels like I have something stuck all the time and feels worse depending how I am laying. I was banded 11/19 and was starting to regret getting banded. Nice to know what I am going thru seems to be the norm. Also my cuts hurt really bad today compared to yesterday. I will try the hot tea tonight. I was not able to sleep last night. Maybe 1/2 hour here and there. Would be nice to get the pain gone so I can at least rest. That liquid pain killer does nothing for me. Nice to know I am not alone.

For those of you who are waiting for your surgery. It really was not that bad at all. I would to it again. Well maybe not tomorrow. LOL . Thanks for all your kind words and thoughts. Let me know if I can be of any help to any of you out there.

HELP! Thinking of canceling tomorrow surgery
Thank you all for your posts. I feel much better. I leave here in about 3 hours for the surgery. Hopefully to be home around 4. I need to do this in order to lose the weight. I will just go in and when I get in the operating room I am gonna close my eyes and imagine myself lying in the beach in Hawaii in a bikini. :rolleyes2: LOL I am so glad we all have each other for support.

HELP! Thinking of canceling tomorrow surgery
Thank you all for your words of encouragement. I need to do this. I have been thinking about it all morning. I am never gonna get thin and stay there without it, or I would have already. I want to be around for my kids. I am tired of being that "fat girl". I am so glad we have this website to be able to reach out to others that are going thru the same things. THANK YOU!~

HELP! Thinking of canceling tomorrow surgery
I was so excited a few weeks back about getting the lap band. Insurance is paying for it. But I started to read the post under lap band removal and all the people who say it does not work after 3-4 years and the erosoin of the band and how they had to have it removed and never wish they did. My friend said her neighbor got the band a year ago and has only lost 40 pounds. I can do that on WW. I am really freakin out if this is the right thing. I have been overweight on the up and down roller coaster of dieting for almost 20 years. Anyone else go thru this?
-
Should I do this?
I would try to lose the weight on your own. If you choose to go to mexico remember you have to still have fills. I am not sure how close you are to mexico to keep going back and forth. Most people that choose to have this surgery is almost a last hope to lose the weight they have been struggling with for years and have around 100 pounds to lose. Your weight lose even with the band also may be slower due to the fact you don't have that much to lose. Good luck with your decision. Remember lapband is a lifetime.

Where are the November 19th Bansters?
WOW tomorrow. Good luck to you. I am freaking out I was up all night reading the posts on after lap band removal. Reading about all the people that had to have them removed and why. I have never read those before. I really hope it all goes well. But now I am worried about what if I am one of those who only loses 10 in 4 months? Or has reflux. Or is sick all the time. I was so excited now I am worrying about everything and wondering if I have made the right decision. :smile2:

Pre-Op Diet
Wait till your doctor tells you to start. I only had to do a 5 day pre-op diet. It is different for everyone. Now is the time to get in all your last supper. LOL Like the things you love that you may not be able to eat. I had pizza that other night and had almost the whole thing. I am gonna miss that. Good luck and I wouldn't stress about the dieting until you are told to.
