  1. I used to wear a size 12w and now I wear a size 11w. I never thought I had fat feet but I guess I did! hahaha
  2. I fit into a size 30 pair of jeans! yeah they were rediculously tight but hey I could still button them!
  3. I had arm pain too. I had some in my wrist that felt like a bruise, that lasted about 2 months and it was from the IV. I also had some really bad pain in my shoulder that lasted almost 4 months but then all of a sudden just went away.
  4. I'm terrified of needles so I would never be able to poke myself. I can deal with my doctor doing it but I can't do it myself. There have been 2 instances I've needed an unfill. The first time I was up all night spitting into a cup because I couldn't swallow the next morning I went to my doctors and got an unfill. The second time my doctor was on vacation and I got the flu, I needed to puke but couldn't. I called his office and they told me to go to the ER so I did. They had no idea what they were doing but I had gone through enough fills and knew enough about what supplies they needed so I walked him through it and he was able to give me an unfill. I think if I didn't have a problem with needles I wouldn't have a problem doing it myself if I was sick, but that's not going to happen.
  5. I get migraines when I'm full. They suck! As soon as my pouch starts to empty they are gone. Also I get really bad chest pain. I don't get a runny nose when I'm full but I do if I'm about to PB.
  6. I'm perscribed phentermine by my lap-band doctor because right before my period I get really hungry and I have a hard time knowing when I'm full until I'm sick around that time of the month. I only take it about 3 times a month and it works. It helps curb my appetite. Yeah it does mess up my sleeping and if I take it for too long I get really angry which I don't like but as long as I don't take it any longer than a week I'm ok. I would never want to take it for an extended period of time but for a few times a month I really like it.
  7. I started at 324lbs and I'm 5'9 I originally was going to do gastric bypass because I didn't know much about the lap-band but every doctor I went to see sugested the lap-band since I'm young and it's easier if I get pregnant in the future. I'm so glad I went with the band. I'm not even a year out and I've already hit my goal(and my doctor's goal) of 170. I'm actually at 167 now. The only doctor that thought I should have RNY instead of the band was my PCP. Maybe go and talk to a few different bariatric surgeons and see what they have to say. I know I saw 3 surgeons before deciding on my doctor.
  8. I would do this again in a heartbeat! This is the best thing I've ever done for myself.
  9. yeah don't stress about it. I didn't loose any weight for about a month soon after surgery. Your body goes into starvation mode and it tries to hold on to all of your weight. And because you haven't had a fill yet you probably don't have too much restriction. As soon as you get some restriction you will loose again. It took me about 2 fills to really get restriciton.
  10. I got my band in december of last year and I'm really glad I went with the band instead of RNY for the following reasons. -I liked that the band wasn't permanant. If something serious happened I could always get it taken out. Or if for some reason I didn't like the band then I could take it out and then go with RNY. -I'm young so if I get pregnant it is safer to have the band. -I like the fact that if I loose restriction I can always go in and get another fill instead of just dealing with your stomach stretching (I have heard about a new procedure that can make your stomach smaller if you've had RNY and it's stertched out.) -I've heard about issues with people who have had RNY having problems with really smelly gas and burping. I didn't really want to deal with this. I'm in school and I'm sure it would be no fun being the "smelly girl". -I don't like the sound of dumping or malabsorbtion. With that being said I love my band and I'm glad I went with it!
  11. It all depends on the fit of the clothes. I was probably 185ish when I started to wear a L now I'm about 167 and I wear a M in clothes that run big and L in clothes that run smaller. I also have very broad shoulders and I'm 5'9.
  12. everyone is doing so well! I had surgery on 12/12/08 and I can't believe it but on 10/13/09 I hit goal! It's not an easy road but it was well worth it. It's so nice not having to worry about all those little things like fitting into chairs or always thinking about food.
  13. I have a 10cc lap band and my doctor puts in 3cc's during surgery for most patients. I never had a problem with it, I'm actually glad he did it because my bandster hell was a lot shorter than most.
  14. I felt the exact same way! Surgery was totally worth it though. I never regret getting the lap-band.
  15. ok so since It's halloween I figured I can do some before and after halloween pics! Before about 324lbs! After 167lbs!!! and the cool thing is I'm standing next to the same friend who is the same size in both pictures. It's cool to see the difference here are a few others.

  17. School is tricky. I would just eat a lot of trail mix. hahaha It doesn't need to be cold and for the most part it doesn't melt and it has an ok amount of protein. It also has a lot of sugar but oh well it was the best I could think of. hahaha I'm lucky that my school has a nice cafeteria with some really healthy options.
  18. I'm about 6lbs from goal! I can't believe it still. I don't want to loose any more after I hit goal I just want to really work on building more muscle. I'm 100% happy with where I'm at now.
  19. I had horrible caffine headaches because I used to drink a ton of coffee and tea. If you used to drink a lot of caffine this may be causing the headaches. For me they went away in about 4 days. They were horrible!
  20. I'm 22 and I've lost 148lbs. It all depends on genetics and where you store your weight. As for my boobs I've gone from a 42DD to a 36C so my boobs aren't very perky. I got lucky with my stomach and don't have much loose skin there but my arms and my thighs are TERRIBLE! but I did keep most of my weight in my thighs.
  21. WOW another 10lbs! That's great!
