Thinking of getting fill after 2 1/2 years!
Hello! Ive had my band for 8 years. Orginally lost 116 lbs. Never had any real problems with it. 2 1/2 years ago the doctor opted to unfill me d/t constant nausea and vomiting with my pregnacy. I gained 30lbs during my pregnancy and have manadged to lose about 20lbs back. I really need to lose about 40 more lbs to be at my goal weight. Although i never had any issues before with my band im worried now about getting a fill again because ive been just eating whatever i felt like for the last couple years. Anyone else go through something simliar? How has it worked out getting filled and back on the "band" wagon!?

what's the longest with the band
Hello! Ive had my band for going on 8 years. I originally lost 116lbs. And kept it off till my pregancy 2.5 years ago. I had so much nausea and vomiting with the pregnancy that my doctor oppt to unfill my band. I gained 30 lbs with the pregnacy and have managed to lose 20lbs back. I really have another 40lbs to go before im at my goal weight. Ive been spoiled with no restriction for the last 2.5 years but im planning to go get a fill within the next few weeks. I never had any problems with the band before but i have to admit im worried about filling it again since ive been used to just eating what i feel like. Has anyone else gone through something similair?

not being able to eat on a date.
Ok heres the deal ive had the LAP-BAND®® for alittle over two yrs now and had lost 116lbs. After beiveng in a bad car accident and having to have a spinal fusion my LAP-BAND®® was deflated and i have since gained back 17 lbs. I now weigh 198 and have been holding steady with no additional weight loss, for aprox 6 mnths. My problem is this I have finally started dating again, because i feel more comfortable with my size and i dont want to get my LAP-BAND®® tightented again because i always have problems keeping things down whenever i just sit down and try and have a meal. So basically when its tightened at all..... i cant eat like a normal person when i go out on a first date. Leading the guy to look on at me like im a weirdo. Ive tried explaining why i dont eat alot but then it seems to make things really akward if i just tell them unfront instead of waiting till i get to know them alittle more. I have recently joined a gym again and am trying to loose the remaining 49lbs by myself. But am i the only out there that feels self consious about this? When my lapband is tightened it makes me dread going on dates, simply because most people want to go to dinner or something.

Loving my band
I have the exact same mucous problem that you are describing. I have had my band since may of 07 and started having it about 5 mnths post opp. If i go without eating for prolonged periods of time then it will build up to where it is almost immposible to eat for awhile without having a productive burp. I still love my lapband and would not change getting it. Anyway if you do come across somthing that works for you on helping with the mucous be sure to let me know. Thanks!
