  1. I did a quick search for you and I found that Bariatric Surgery Has a page that states the proper way to write a letter of neccessity. GOOD LUCK
  2. Yes, EXERCISE is definately it. I actually just joined LA fitness yesterday. I want to swim. I used to be a competition swimmer when I was a teenager and I would like to be able to swim with the endurance I used to have. Not necessarily the speed at 42 but the endurance. My doctor cleared me to swim about 2 weeks ago at my first fill and I needed to get through Christmas. Merry Christmas to me and Happy New Year!! Now the issue is that I do not now where the bathing suit I bought and never wore last summer is. I would also like to do pilates, and yoga. I have Multiple Sclerosis and these exercises work when I am sick and when I am not. NOW if I could only get consistent and make it a way of life.....
  3. I havent posted for awhile either. I been reading and checking in that way but I have been lazy to. I am actually doing pretty well, I had surgery 10-21 and I have lost 27 lbs and it feel great! I have started a yoga type of exercise until I am cleared to swim. I do for my first fill on Dec 15 and I cant wait. I have learned alot in this time. I have learned I can not drink anything overly sweet. I am on food now and I am I already learned the chew, chew, and chew some more. I can not wait for my fill. I did really well on thanksgiving, and hope to do the same for Christmas. It will be right after my first fill so I should be okay. I hope everyone is well and wish everyone the best of luck.
  4. Hello ! I am from the New Haven area. I was banded on Oct. 21 by Dr Valin also. My first followup is 11/5 with Debby. I will be at the 11/6 meeting. I am looking forward to being in a room with a people who are just like me. Facing the challenges ahead. :w00t:
  5. :confused_smile:Patience will pay off. I began my journey for lapband in the end of June 08, my insurance requires 6 months of a doctor sponsered program and I had done that the year before in one of my weight loss attempts. I actually lost alot but then ended up being forced to go back on my medication and gained the whole 70 lbs back in 2 years. That was my last attempt. I decided on surgery and had met all of my insurance requirements. They assumed I would be in surgery by the end of July. Guess again.....Denied, denied again, had the obesity law people represent me to appeal and I have finally been cleared.' My surgery is in two days. Oct 21. I learned alot during the wait and had the time to really get to understand what my life is going to be like after and how much I just want to not be FAT anymore. Hang in there, it will come when it is supposed to. Mine took total 4 months to surgery.
  6. WOW! It is getting late today while I watch the baseball game and it is almost Sunday. Getting banded on the 21st!!! I am on a 1000 calorie diet for surgery which means I can eat, just not alot. I went out to eat for my "last meal" I really wanted steak since it may be the last time eating it. Depending on what my body decides it can eat. I am really excited...I have waited so long for this and I am ready. I know there are a few getting banded on Tuesday 21st..Good Luck to all!:w00t:
  7. hey gottabthin! I to find myself thinking constantly of swimming and not dying because I can not make it the whole lap. I swam competition as a teenager and my goal is to be able to have the endurance to swim like that again, not the speed, the strength just to make it. TO THE 21ST WE GO......
  8. I am going for surgery on Oct. 21st!!! I have been waiting for what seems like forever and now it is here. My emotions keep gooing back and forth between excited and fear. I haven't been told to do anything other than show up. I still am waiting for my endoscopy apt. to be made. I noticed that I have become very comtemplative since getting the date. I have been thinking about what used to be. All the failed diets and all the pressure of losing weight to turn around and putting it back on. I have been battling my weight since I was thirteen and I am now over 40. I feel like my fight is finally over.
