  2. Hey everyone, I have not posted in months and want to update and need some suggestions. I was banded on 11/17/08 and have lost 65-70 pounds and gone from a 3xl/50 to a l/38-40. I have had 5 fills totalling 6 cc. Since my last fill I still have considerable restriction. I am seeing a slow but steady loss in inches but I have been gaining and losing the same 10 pounds for over a month now. Clothes that were too tight a couple of weeks ago now fit so I know I am still losing even though the scales say I am not. I average 1000-1200 calories per day and drink water, diet green tea and coffee with splenda and skim milk. What can I do to get the weight loss kicked in again? It takes me forever to eat most anything and I feel full very quick. I am scheduled for a fill next week but I think I still have enough restriction that I will cancel the fill. I was working out 3-5 times a week until I tore the rotator cuff in my left shoulder and had to have surgery. For the past couple of months I have not been able to do much other than walk. Some other issues I am having are some days I see my reflection and dont recognize myself but other days I feel as if I have not lost a pound. Also some days I will forget to eat and other days it doesnt matter what I eat I stay hungry. Is this normal? Any thougts or suggestions would be appreciated. I will attend a support group meeting again if my schedule will ever cooperate. Thanks in advance for any replies.

I received my third fill yesterday (3/24/09 and I feel as restricted as I did the first few days after surgery. I have been drinking alot of liquids today but have only ate about 1/2 cup of mashed potatos. I hope this fill kicks my weight loss into high gear. I now have a total of 4.5 cc's in a 9cc realize band.

I am four months post op and down a total of 52 pounds. I have been gaining and losing the same 3 pounds for about 3-4 weeks now, even though I am still slowly losing inches. It seems that my upper body is shrinking faster than my lower body. I have gone from a 3xl to a large or xl in shirts. In pants I am in between; 42's are still too snug but 44's are too baggy:unsure:. I go next week for my third fill and am hoping that after this fill my weight loss will pick up again. I have gotten sick a couple of times, mostly from eating too fast or taking too big of a bite. Turkey and breads are my worst foods and tuna or buffalo wings are my best as far as tolerance. I am not getting in enough liquids each day which I have got to work on.

  7. Happy New Year everyone!! I had my first fill on monday Dec. 29th and got 3 ccs. The fill wasn't as bad as I expected. I had lasik surgery tuesday and am loving my new eyes:thumbup:. I have had a couple of problems this week and I guess it was pb episodes because I vomited both times and all that came up was slime. I had a piece of turkey get stuck Sunday and a wheat thin get stuck this morning. Both experiences were awful. I knew as soon as I swallowed the wheat thin that I was going to get sick. I guess those are off limits. Take care everyone and hope to see you all at the next support group meeting.
  8. I also enjoyed the meeting yesterday. It was good to get to meet a few of you. Depending on my work schedule I may try to bring my wife to the January meeting so she can also sit in the bypass support group meeting and see if there are others that are having some of the problems she has. Merry Christmas everyone.

Last night I hurt more than I have since the surgery. After drinking a cup of chicken broth I felt like I was going to explode. I felt like I needed to burp or hiccup but couldn't. I was able to drink a little more than the day before but still not getting alot of fluids in. I drove yesterday and think it may have been too soon to try and venture out.

The weight loss is from the date of pre-op appointment to now, not from day of surgery. Walking the distance I did was definately TOO far and have not tried to walk that far since.
  12. Hey guys I am now post op day day three. I start each day feeling better than they day before but by night time, especially last night, I am hurting so bad I cant sit still. I know alot of it is still gas pain and last night after drinking a cup of broth I felt so full I was going to explode. I felt like I really needed to burp or hiccup and couldnt do either. I drove a little yesterday and think it may have been too early to try and get out. Anyone else feel this way in the first few days after surgery? Should I be trying to walk more? I am only taking the liquid lortab at bedtime now and taking liquid tylenol 1-2 times during the day. Thanks everyone.
  13. I have got to call them about my appointment to get the staples out. It is at 2:30 but I cant remember if it is on monday or tuesday.

Today I have hurt alot more than expected. I may have overdone it walking though, took two walks one of about 200 yards and the other about 1/4-1/3 of a mile. I have been sipping on the same bottle of water since 5 am and it is now after 5pm. I am having to take pain meds about every 4-6 hours and alternating liquid lortab and liquid tylenol. Thankfully I have had no nausea just a strong desire to burp and a couple of hiccups that were terribly painful. I have lost a little over 10 pounds since last week.
