I received my third fill yesterday (3/24/09 and I feel as restricted as I did the first few days after surgery. I have been drinking alot of liquids today but have only ate about 1/2 cup of mashed potatos. I hope this fill kicks my weight loss into high gear. I now have a total of 4.5 cc's in a 9cc realize band.

I am four months post op and down a total of 52 pounds. I have been gaining and losing the same 3 pounds for about 3-4 weeks now, even though I am still slowly losing inches. It seems that my upper body is shrinking faster than my lower body. I have gone from a 3xl to a large or xl in shirts. In pants I am in between; 42's are still too snug but 44's are too baggy:unsure:. I go next week for my third fill and am hoping that after this fill my weight loss will pick up again. I have gotten sick a couple of times, mostly from eating too fast or taking too big of a bite. Turkey and breads are my worst foods and tuna or buffalo wings are my best as far as tolerance. I am not getting in enough liquids each day which I have got to work on.

Last night I hurt more than I have since the surgery. After drinking a cup of chicken broth I felt like I was going to explode. I felt like I needed to burp or hiccup but couldn't. I was able to drink a little more than the day before but still not getting alot of fluids in. I drove yesterday and think it may have been too soon to try and venture out.

The weight loss is from the date of pre-op appointment to now, not from day of surgery. Walking the distance I did was definately TOO far and have not tried to walk that far since.

Today I have hurt alot more than expected. I may have overdone it walking though, took two walks one of about 200 yards and the other about 1/4-1/3 of a mile. I have been sipping on the same bottle of water since 5 am and it is now after 5pm. I am having to take pain meds about every 4-6 hours and alternating liquid lortab and liquid tylenol. Thankfully I have had no nausea just a strong desire to burp and a couple of hiccups that were terribly painful. I have lost a little over 10 pounds since last week.

  10. New to posting but been reading and researching the forums for quite some time. I began my journey with the supervised weight loss program in January and had went to a seminar in June. My first appointment with the surgeon was in August. I had my sleep study, psych eval and nutritional consult in September. My insurance was approved on Oct 6th, only 3 days after the request was submitted(Highmark BCBS). I have a surgery date scheduled for November 17th with Dr. Miles at St. Vincent's East in Birmingham, AL.
  11. I live in Alabama but have Highmark BCBS through U.S. Steel. The precertification request was sent in on Oct. 3rd and was approved on Oct 6th. My surgery is set for November 17th. As long as you follow the requirements of the insurance company you should have no problems.
