  1. Thanks for the gets better every day. I could use that about now.
  2. Surprise. :rolleyes2: I thought I`would be the last to post. Right now is the first time since Friday that I have felt like looking at the computer. Went to the out patient surgery center at 6 am. Surgery at 730. All went well. It was 1230 before I noticed I was still alive.:thumbup:The nurses were great. I was glad to go home and get away from the every 10 min medicine cups of water. I came home about 230. I felt pretty good Fri pm, but yesterday was rough. I mostly took my tylenol 3 liquid and slept. I had terrible gas pain. My abdomin looks like frankenstine all bruised and long suture looking lines.:huh2:Hopefully today will be a new day, because I was not able to do the protein or hydration yesterday and I know that is important. Hope all other Friday the15th surgeries are well. My pain is a 4 this morning. That is tolerable for me. Just took my ty;enol so hopefully will be better soon.
  3. Thanks for the report on the unjury. I will order the unflavored before my surgery. I ordered some of the other flavors and they were great. I think the unflavored will be great to add to other foods to up the protein.I also ordered some lean dessert (protein supplement) from vitacost. I ordered the fresh cinnamon roll and vanilla. It is delic. I would drink it even if I didn't need the protein.
  4. Congrats. Hallelujah, I am so glad things went well. I was looking forward to seeing your story today. Mine will be next Friday. I hope by that by that time I won't be nervous either. Right now I am a little queasy. I have all the preop appointments to look forward to starting Monday. They seemed to wait until the last min. Oh well after all this time I am just glad the time is finally here. Good luck to you and keep us posted.
  5. Go to today,s new posts, the first page. There is a 60+ thread. I just noticed that
  6. I am 53 and have surgery scheduled for May 15th. I was much younger when I started the process. LOL Took forever to get it together and get insurance approval. I was a little concerned aboout my age, but seems that is not a big problem. I hope. Good luck to you.
  7. I tried Body Fortress in a shaker container and found it to be very gritty. I will try it in a blender to see if it helps the grit. It tastes pretty good. I ordered some samples of the unjury that is advertised on this site. It is very yummy and not gritty. They also have unflavored, and a chicken soup. I also tried choc. strawberry and vanilla. They were all to my taste. Slimfast, Adkins, and Boost low sugar are delicious, but I can not tolerate them as they cause me to have diarrhea. Thanks to all who have given valuable info regarding these protein drinks. It saves me lots of money not buying and trying any that are uck.
  8. Sherri, I have a surgery date of May 15. I also hope and pray to be rid of my diabetes.I take actomet and glyburide. Seems like lapband is very helpful for diabetics. Lets keep our fingers crossed.
  9. You look great and when you heal it will be even better.
  10. Wonderful that was quick wasn't it? I had my stress test today. I hope to get the results next week. Will keep you posted.
  11. Good deal. I would just bug the ins. coordinator every few days or at least once a week, and ask her point blank if she had sent the info. Hooray, My surgery date is May 15th. I think my BMI is about 43.5. I am also a poster child with most all the comorbidities. I should have done this years ago, but have always been a chicken. I have a stress test sched. for this Friday. My cardiologist insists, and he is right as I am sure the surgeon and his team will want it before surgery. I just hope it doesn't show anything needing attention. I hate stress tests.
  12. I got my approval letter from Cigna on Good Friday. Called my surgeon and got a date of May 15 for lap band surgery. It has been a long time coming. I am so glad the wait is almost over. yeah.:thumbup:I have a cardiac stress test scheduled for this Fri. Wish me luck, I really hate stress tests, but if I can live through it again , I should be able to survive anything.
  13. Lellow and Juli, you guys are so brave. I hope that I will be half as brave when my turn comes.
  14. Bethany. I do have good news for you. Cigna seems to work pretty quickly after they get the info. Just call and make sure that they get the paperwork. That was my biggest problem. The MDs office would say that it had been sent. I would call Cigna and they didn't have it yet. It was not fun. The last thing to happen, Cigna requested some additional info. My MDs office said they sent it. I kept calling. Finally the MDs office gave me the phone # for the copy co. that was to copy and send the info. from my chart I called and the copy co. was waiting for Cigna to send $30 . I gave them the money.( I doubt that Cigna would ever pay for the records.) I called Cigna , and they got the info the next day , it took about 2 weeks to get it approved.
  15. Good luck to you. I have been through all the hoops and got the ok letter from Cigna today. Yea! It has been a long road as you know. I think that I have had more problems with my drs. offices than I have had with Cigna. It is so hard to get things done when it is not someone else priority. Now hopefully I can get scheduled for the surgery soon. I have been working on this for about 2 yrs. now. Some complications and delays due to 2 hurricanes in this area, a change in insurance mid way plus several weeks waiting for info to be send to Cigna or from another MD office to the surgeon, so hang in and it will happen.
  16. I live in Orange Tx. Not banded yet , but working on insurance approval. Hope to get band before end of this yr.
  17. I am a newby to forums and computers in general so if I make mistakes, please overlook. I am a little older at 52. I have lots of health problems caused by the obesity , diabetes, heart disease, high blood pressure and others. I hope to get banded by the end of the yr. I am in process of getting insurance approval ,or not.Great WESTand they require a 6mo medically supv. wt. loss program, psyche eval., nutritional consult. I have done most, but have one more vs. with wt loss MD. then we will see. Plan to private pay if denied. I have already enjoyed and learned alot visiting this site. Thanks in advance. I am using Dr. Stan Hahn in Nederland Texas. Can not wait. I am an RN and am taking a break at this time. I have a 2 yr old g-dghter and decided to take some time of to be with her. Fun.Fun to be a maw maw. Current wt. 247. As with most others, I have struggled and dieted for most of my life and I hope that the lap band will help me lose the weight once and for all.
