Hello, I am exactly 2 weeks post op from sleeve surgery. I'm thankful that I've had a great recovery so far with almost no issues, except the mental ones. As the days go by, I'm beginning to feel myself feeling more and more paranoid and anxious. Paranoid that I did all this and NOTHING is going to happen, even though I'm already losing weight. As if it's too good to be true, and any day now, like always with diets I've done, the weight that I'm losing will just come flooding back. Paranoid that my recovery has been great...... suspiciously too great, and that I'll suddenly get some kind of infection and drop dead. That last one is a fear I've had because YEEEARS ago, a colleague of mine passed away after they had weight loss surgery recovery complications. However, even with these fears, I'm also very excited but also anxious. Time just isn't moving fast enough to see the results of all this. Waiting and not pushing to start something too soon to avoid complications. The same complications I'm fearful of. Am I making sense? My doctor said to limit my exercise to walking for now. But again, my paranoia is pushing my anxiety to exercise more now before it's too late and everything goes to S@%#. UUggHhh!!! It's a Mental Cycle. Please tell me I'm not the only person in this loop. At the end of the day, I take a few breaths and calm myself down. My family and friends help to keep my mind straight haha.
