  1. I have BCBS of GA. I want to know how much I can expect to pay for my fills. Is it a regular dr. appt. co-pay?
  2. Thanks for posting ladies. Jacqui it's good to know that your natural curves returned. That's what I really want to happen as I lose. I know that Ive been overweight for some time now, and everything wont look like it did 15 years ago. To know that some things will regain their original curve at least makes me feel better.
  3. I could never post such a horrid thing as the fat patch on top of my butt! It's basically just a hump of fat that sticks out past whatever surfact it's on. Looking at me from the side there's an area just above my butt that sticks out. It's kind of rounded - a fat patch!
  4. Ok I read the post a while back about the "fat patch" which is essentially a hump of fat between the shoulder blades and below the neck. Yeah, I have that, but I also have a fat patch on my lower back just above my butt! Does anyone else have that? Is your sore? That patch took away the curve between my butt and my back. In fact, before I gained this weight my butt looked normal now since this fat patch has grown on top of it, it's totally flat! Just like the OP of the fat patch on her back - mine is sore. It is always sore if I push on it. I don’t know why. I really hope this is one of the first things to go once Im banded. That and the doggone back boobies!
  5. I want to to this - and dance on a pole when we get back home!! I want to wake up the inner sex kitten whose asleep right now. I want my husband to think about me the way he did 70 lbs. ago. I know he still thinks Im beautiful and all of that...but I want him to know me as that vixen again.
  6. CONGRATULATIONS!!!!! That has to be the best Christmas gift ever! I wish you many many pounds lost by this time next year.
  7. Here's a question that I have been dying to ask...why the shoulder pain? I notice that a great deal of lb patients come home with it.
  8. Ive been wondering why your stomach (the part below the band) doesnt shrink... I mean if we restricted ourselves w/out help from the band it would. Is there something about the band that keeps the stomach from shrinking? If there isnt it would seem that 10 years from now our stomachs would be small again. Am I missing something?
  9. I am so happy to have found this website. I have been in other forums where most of the people repeat this " I only had a problem w/portion control. I ate healthy, I just ate too much of it" script. Im glad to be where Real people can be honest about the behaviors and foods that got us where we are. Im also glad to know that the band really can help someone like me (and you Lauren). Those other places had me seriously thinking it couldn’t. I do plan to eat healthier and move more once banded, but honestly right now, Im still addicted to junk food.
  10. Welcome all the new ladies! Im so glad I found this forum, it really helps to have someone like me going through this thing also. Ebony Rose: I too am waiting till I lose a little of this jelly before hopping on the pole. I cant wait though. I think I'd be good at it!
  11. These are the requirements listed in the packet that my surgeon gave me. I hope that the insurance co will not be sticklers when it comes to the medically supervised weight loss plan. If that's the case Im good. If not, I'll work it out!
  12. Hello. Im also a newbie. I have already had my consultation and watched two Emmi videos. I will be making my dr.s appt.s later this week and next week. My insurance doesnt actually start covering Lap Band until Jan.1 2009. I plan to have everything I need ready to go on December 31st! I want it asap.
  13. Ok yall, I have not had any medically supervised diets aside from the couple of times in the nineties when I went to the "diet doctor" to get phentermine. Though I have done Weight Watchers and Quick Weight Loss (also in the nineties), I don’t have receipts for them??? I honestly cannot see waiting 6 months to undergo a diet plan and then applying for my ins. to cover my LapBand. I want to apply asap! Has nyone been approved based on BMI, Co-morbidities and your doctors recommendation alone? I mean I could list the trillion diets Ive been on and get a letter from a certified personal trainer Ive used, but I don’t have any real proof of weight loss programs. What do yall think?
  14. I absolutely cannot wait to shop in j crew, banana republic, and all those great "regular" stores I used to shop in when I was fine. I swear Im looking at catalogs and online stores already!
