  1. I realized I posted this on the wrong section, Oops! I am so worried that I may have slipped! I had my third fill yesterday (now I'm at 2 cc in a 4 cc band) and I STILL feel very little resistriction. I KNOW that it can take a few days (or weeks) for the fill to "kick in" but I keep reading about how people can't eat this or can't eat that--I have yet to eat anything that I can't eat. Could I have slipped? I have heartburn every once in awhile, it's definitely not every day and I have thrown up a few times when I overate or was sick, although is it really throwing up or is it a PB? I'm totally stressing because I definitely cannot afford another surgery. If I did have a slip, would I have to get surgery or could I live with the slip for awhile?

  3. The hair loss is from nutritional deficiency, right? Or am I just crazy?
  4. No, there are definitely no Lap Band docs in NM, but I got mine done in El Paso at the Del Sol Bariatric Center--Dr. Michael Lara-he was really great!
  5. Enough! Everyone enough!!!:omg:
  6. How much does your weight fluctuate on a day to day basis? I know that you're not supposed to weigh yourself every day but I'm working so hard and I just can't help it, but there seriously, is like, a 6-7 lb. difference from day to day! I know that bowel movements and how much you eat and drink before weighing yourself makes a difference, but 6-7 lbs?
  7. Going on 2 weeks now of working out every day....the exact same weight though....I KNOW I'm burning calories! What is UP? I'm also eating good food, less carbs, more whole grains, protein, water.....damn!
  8. why is drinking bad? if it makes it better should I still not do it? I know you're not supposed to drink in general while you're eating?
  9. Hi there, I freak out when I get the golf ball feeling--I grab some drink and try to wash it down--is that the right thing to do or should I just leave it? It feels so weird, kind of like I'm choking, even though I can definitely breathe. Why do I get it and what can I do to stop it from happening in the first place and what should I do if/when it happens again?
  10. i am now almost a month post-op and I have NO problem gulping drinks or eating quickly--I am deathly afraid that this is going to cause me big problems--but I honestly JUST FORGET! I know after the first fill everything will change...but yikes!
  11. How many out there were able to tolerate bread before their first fill? I can totally do it (nearly a month P/O)--I am wondering if I can tolerate it now, will I still be able to tolerate it post-fill #1?
  12. I haven't had a fill yet and I do drink with my mushy meals--I know this is bad, but it's a such a tough habit to break and since I have basically NO restriction, it's even harder to not drink By the way, what's wrong with the water sitting on top of the food in your stomach?
  13. how do you know if you hurt yourself though irresponsible eating post-op? How do you know if you rip your sutures or slip your band? I'm just curious, not in any critical danger or anything.
  14. how long did you guys have to wear band-aids on your incisions? Every kind of band-aid I have ever tried makes my skin crazy irritated--the adhesive is really itchy and I get giant, red painful welts from them--the scars look pretty good to me--i don't see the doc again until friday....:help:
  15. I am feeling so naseaus today--this morning I ate too much cottage cheese (two weeks out, I was just so excited to be off of soup!) What can i do for naseau (that's legal?) I really do feel terrible--I THINK it's because I ate too much cottage cheese, but maybe I'm sick....I don't have a fever......:omg:
  16. is it ok to mix a few goldfish in with your cottage cheese during the mushy stage?? i LOVE the mixture, but don't know if it's mushy enough
  17. I was banded 9 days ago and have hit a point where I am so hungry......I'm so sick of eating soup and am wondering how long this hunger will last? It's beyond cravings.....I am truly, truly hungry....
  18. I am also one week into my recovery--what kinds of issues are you having? I feel pretty good, I've been back at work for four days, but I'm mostly really really really hungry all the time on this liquid diet.
  19. Bonnie, How much do fills cost at Johns Hopkins? I'm moving to Baltimore at the end of the summer and I was just banded 3-28-2006, so am interested in the docs at Johns Hopkins. Do you know if they are taking new patients? Thanks, Anna
  20. coljooh420, I got banded Tuesday, March 28--I'm 24. I don't know about fills, but I would love to pick your brain about what you are going through
