What do you all do?
I have been a EFDA, Dental Assistant for the last 2 1/2 years, and prior to that I was a Pharmacy Technician - I still keep my Pharmacy license up to date just in case I ever decide to go back. I would love to become a pharmacist but with 2 small kids and being 3 hours from one of the nearest schools, it just doesnt work. But since becoming a Dental Assistant, I really seem to enjoy that. Believe me, you never look at someones mouth/teeth ever the same again. LOL

3 days post-op - lots of discomfort
Hello - Congrats on the new band. I myself was just banded on 12-9-08. I to never expected to experience so much pain and discomfort. Specially since this was less invasive as they say. I would hate to know what the other surgery feels like. I still am sore even today. But believe me with each passing day it does get better. For me, I felt like I had a elephant sitting on my chest. Doctor told me it was just trapped gas. Man was I ever glad it finally went away. I really couldnt do much walking except from the bedroom to the living room and back. LOL I was way to cold out side and we had all that freezing rain and sleet. So who knows, if I would have actually walked more if the pain I feel now would be gone. Dont believe so because I think its the port area thats the sorest. Still rough bending over. Specially if I move just a certain way. Anyways, enought about me and again congrats love to talk to you more.

New
Hello, Just wanted to let you know that I too was doing exactually as you. Everyone that I talked to would give me something negative but none of them had ever done anything like this. So I took it upon myself to do all the research and to decide on my own. This website has helpped me out wonderfully. Any question no matter how big or small, someone has an answer for you. I myself just was banded on 12-9-08. So far so good. No complications, no vomitting, I actually feel pretty good. Only thing is, I never dreamed I was going to be as sore as I am. Im a week and a half out and still sore but everyday is a better day. If there is anything I can help you with, please let me know and I'll be happy to answer if I can.
