Thinking of you too, LJM. They might just have to give you a room with your name on the door. :grouphug:

Lap-Band, the easy way out.
Okay, good. I'm not the only one who felt it was sheer willpower after about a couple weeks post-op. :grouphug: And since my first fill, it is more willpower than before. I am hungry two hours after eating now. The nurse warned me this might happen, though the fill doc said it wouldn't. I have to go with the nurse on this one. That is why I scheduled my second fill two weeks after the first one.

That is an absolutely fantastic victory!!! A HUGE CONGRATS!!

I am the only one frustrated?
I know this may not make sense, but for me, I get frustrated more with the people who say it's okay that somebody ate a side of beef three days after surgery. I know that is exaggerating a tad, but it's the enablers who, maybe to justify their own screw-ups, tell others that "it's okay, I did it too." Yes, we all screw up at times; but those who enable or encourage it are the ones I take issue with because it's people sharing destructive tendencies with others. Who wants to be the "lone screw-up," right? Like misery loves company.

I am the only one frustrated?
In all honesty, what I've seen seems to indicate an issue with the bandsters' inability to refrain from improper foods and not with the doctors' instructions.

Just do what you know to be right, listen to your surgeon, and be conservative on what you eat. You'll be fine.

Just because YOU didn't do it doesn't mean that others don't read this stuff and do it. And so what if your brother is a doctor. Is he a gastric/lap-band doctor? Doubtful. Seriously, if you want to rah-rah these people, I can't stop the stupidity. However, the fact that others on here DO look for validation for doing this type of self-destructive behavior is enough to piss some of us off royally.

Crap, Plain, I thought you had the answer! Hell, we haven't seen a new Gray's for what, three months now? I can't remember what they're fighting about either.

Yeah, no FLACCIDS here. Oh wow, my brain is fried. I wasn't thinking it was since THIS Monday... wow... S'okay, I've taken care of the not-so-gracious stuff. Omg, it just chaps my butt the way the some people are -- moreso the ones that say it's okay than the ones who admitted what they did! That could REALLY hurt newbies who come here and decide to listen to peers over doctors.

I can do! But in all fairness, it WAS yucky out the last couple days. I did Richard last night before dinner. YAY! I'll call you on Friday and see if you're home. Tonight is a test on campus (my last) and Gray's Anatomy. Oh no! But YAY on the 6 pounds!!! Do you need to change your ticker?

Ate a burger two days after surgery
I dunno... there was another person on another thread that claimed to have eaten a Taco Bell meximelt in its entirety four days post op and it took her 2 hours to eat it.

Ate a burger two days after surgery
And I and others are equally sick of people who brush off these things and try to tell people it's okay. YOU'RE not a doctor, and all of our doctors have put us on relatively restrictive programs after surgery FOR A REASON. For a bunch of dolts to come online and tell others "it's okay because I did it" is just SO stupid that there aren't words. Like I said, if some people can't even hold out a couple days or a week from surgery before they start hitting the burgers and ho-hos, maybe you should not have had surgery. The bad choices people are making that so many of you are saying is okay COULD affect a new bandster and make them believe that it will be okay to do it too. That can cause them harm. I couldn't care less about the ones who have already done it because you made the choice and you've done it already. What I AM concerned about is the newbies you are affecting with your little rah-rah session over here and on other thread, and everything you say is based in total ignorance and a total inability to show even the remotest bit of self control.

Hehe, my mom used to go to a GP that was in a little strip center where there was a convenience store. Whenever she went to that doctor, she called him Dr. Stop-N-Go.

Okay, then somebody misinformed me. I don't recall who, but I was told it was a steroid. Yeah, it knocked out what I had, but I DO know a couple people who the z-pack almost does nothing for.
-

Anybody taken a z-pack for illness? It's apparently a steriod, something I didn't know. And if you did, did you gain from it? And/or is 5 days enough to gain from a heavy steroid?
