  1. Do you think it's that, or could it be like in another thread I'm subscribed to, it could be that he will get jealous and nervous as you lose? No matter what, we would all hope our loved ones would want what's best for us -- and being overweight is not it.
  2. Could you imagine growing up and finding out you were the baby in this story? *shudder*
  3. I was reading they dropped her due to death threats they were receiving: PR group steps aside from representing octuplets mother - USATODAY.com
  4. Actually I have heard from my doctor and others that they started the banding procedure in Europe in the 80's. Hope that helps people feel a bit more comfortable about how long it's been around. However, I too have wondered how many long-termers there are with the band.
  5. Seems this little tramp really got around: Richard Goodsell: I'm the real daddy, Alfie and I want a DNA test to prove it | News | News Of The World
  6. Time for an insurance fraud investigation.
  7. Her back looks like it's holding up to me.
  8. Oh wow, Carrie, I'm sorry to hear that. Mine isn't that bad -- just loves his food and I'm sure he feels he's missing out since we have scaled back the eating out. But he does get excited for me when I tell him of a weight loss. You know we love you. I know it's not the same, but even still...
  9. I think "wife" is Latin for "brat."
  10. Took hubby to a nice dinner and a movie last night (booked early because tonight was so full we'd have had to have eaten at 9:00 or later). Tried a seafood place a coworker raved about. Food was good. Not rave-worthy, but good. For ME, the portion was just right. DH, however, needed to stop at Micky D's afterward and get two quarter-pounders with cheese as it didn't fill him. He got a tuna dish, and I got sesame-encrusted rockfish with Asian vegetables and basmati rice. Gave him my rice to sop up the good Asian sauce with afterwards. But the dish was a perfect size for me. Tasted good, and I didn't feel like I did too badly. Saw Taken afterwards. Good movie, but I liked Gran Torino better (a movie I had seen but hubby hadn't but wanted to -- though he opted for Taken). Nice night. Haven't had a "date" in some time.
  11. Awww, that's cute! How many years?
  12. I think for me, that was one of the biggest reasons why I only told three people. I didn't want people to scrutinize me or see if I failed (I think I still had it in my mind that I could or would fail like I had with diets in the past). Maybe find a polite way to tell them to mind their own beeswax.
  13. Yes, you did say that! I guess I'll find out. Then again, I have such a hard time finding my pulse that if it was wrong, I don't know that I'd know. :rose:
  14. Sounds like you're doing GREAT!! With my surgery, I was up and down -- felt good one day, not so great the next, then good the day after, then bad again. I never had the gas pains at all... it was more attributable to just feeling blah. Congrats!
  15. Shonda, this post is sheer insanity. Why is HE villianized, even hypothetically, by you??
  16. Yeah, and I want to be a supermodel, but it ain't gonna happen. You know, the road to hell is paved with good intentions.
  17. Yes, obviously. That would make you a hypocrite... again. (there, I did a winky guy this time) Ain't America great?? No matter how irresponsible you choose to be, this country of enablers is right there to give you our money ("our" usually being the ones who ARE responsible) so that you can be rewarded for doing whatever you want to do. How grand.
  18. Boo! Last year I had school on both Valentine's AND my birthday. This year I'm safe.
  19. Good thoughts your way, Fanny. I hated being in that position myself. It took us 19 months to sell our Houston home, and it was grueling. And yes, nervous energy can make you hungry. I haven't had the band long enough to say it would make it tighter...
  20. Oh hell, girl, GO FOR IT! :frown:
  21. Try for it. Hey, can you thpeak with a lithp? Might get more cha-ching. :frown:
  22. Hmmm, that's not good news... :frown: But... but... but... it's by JAKE! lol
  23. Aren't they all? :frown:
