I may finally have good restriction
mysherrijo, That is EXACTLY how I feel and yes I hope ad pray it stays this way. I am able to est about the same amount and it's just enough to get my Protein in. I have also lost 4 lbs.....FINALLY. This is my first real weight loss for a long time. Jacqui, I loved being like that....having restriction, but not enough to stop at 1/2-1 cup. I'm really glad you can stay at that restriction and still lose. It just wasn't working for me. I guess with my messed up hormones (thyroid and PCOS), it takes this small of of an amount.

Normal 4 tummy to be swollen after fill?
I had a TT so I can really tell. Today, I am so swollen up, I almost feel like I did before lap-band.....17 lbs. ago when my tummy got so tight I thought it would rip. I had a fill yesterday and it's pretty tight....could this have anything to do with why I feel so swollen in my whole tummy area?

How much to ask for today
Well, I'm definitely restricted now. He put in .5cc and I can now feel it. I can drink just fine....haven't tried to eat just yet. I did have some very thin grits last night because I was hungry. I felt them go down the whole way....never felt that before.

Eating after a fill
All of them are different. Mine says don't even worry about doing liquids. He says you'll know if you need to do soft foods or liquids because your band will tell you.

I may finally have good restriction
He took me to 2.5cc in my 10cm band yeaterday and I can finally feel it. He absolutely did not want to do it, but I talked him in to it. He told me I would probably be in today for an unfill, but we shall see. Aren't there quite a few of you who started out at lower BMI's that have a bit more fill than most?

How much to ask for today
I also need to add that I have lost nothing since right after banding (liquid phase) 4.5 months ago. I also had barium swallow done last week and the barium just poured through. I definitely do not want to get anywhere near too tight, but it's time for me to start losing.

How much to ask for today
I go in for 4th fill today and not really sure how much to ask for. 1st-1cc 2nd-1cc total 2cc 3rd- .3cc to take me back up to 2cc I do have restriction, but not enough to get full after 1 cup of food. To gauge it, for lunch yesterday, I had a tuna fish sandwich (yes, the whole thing) and a half of an avacado.

Leak?
I know that it is probably just me getting worried over nothing, but last time I had a fill, I had lost .3cc in just a few weeks. He told me this was normal and went on about his business. I read somewhere today that any needle, other than an Inamed needle is not supposed to be used and can cause leaks. Well, I'm not 100% sure, but I don't think the last time he gave me a fill he used the right needle......I heard him talking about it with the nurse and ordering more. I was also just thinking last night that I felt like most of my restriction is gone. I actually ate a piece of homemade pizza where before I couldn't look at a piece of pizza without it hurting. Has anyone had a leak and do they always have to go back in or is there something esle they can do.....like fix-a-flat or something?

Unloser
Boo, How are you? It has been a while since we've spoken. Mousecrazy, I'm in the same boat as you are. I was banded April 13th, lost 5 lbs before surgery.....12 more right after and nothing since then. I've had 3 fills (up to 2cc), I work out, drink my Water....etc......nothing. I'm going to call today and see if I can get in to get another fill.

What would you do?
10cm/4cc Inamed band
-
What would you do?
I've brought this up before, but want to know what more people think about my situation. 1) had 3 fills 1st-1cc, 2nd-1cc=2cc, 3rd-lost .3cc so back up to 2cc I do not feel any different than before and have lost no weight since right after banding in April. I had upper GI done last Monday which showed barium going right through (rather quickly I might add), so even the radiologist knew right away I did not have enough restriction. My dilemma is....should I ask for another fill free or at reduced price? I feel like I paid for the same fill twice. He never took me over 2cc. Even if at my 3rd fill, he had taken me to 2.1cc, I wouldn't feel this way. Also, is .3 loss after 4-6 weeks normal?

Inamed wallet card???
Mine has my picture on it. I have used it to order kids meals at restaurants.....so far that's it.

Is this just a stage?
You have done amazing things........sit back and enjoy the ride.

Shame on Golden Corral.
I was wondering about Olive Garden...glad you said that.

How/Why can a fill take a week or more?
Julie, What size band do you have?
-
everytime I eat it's different
Jacqui, When you say you had to stop after 3 bites......was it something like 1st bite syndrome or were you just done? The reason I ask is because I do this constantly, but if I drink something warm beforehand it seems to help 75% of the time and I can continue eating.......too much. Should I take this as a sign to completely stop instead of letting it pass and continuing on?

Just got back from Upper GI......
Thank you very much. I will be getting some aloe vera today. I already have papaya enzyme, but forget to take it. Does the juice taste weird or anything?

April Bandits, It's August!!!!
Hi Everyone, I also have been having problems losing and getting enough restriction. My Doc thinks I'm filled up enough, but I knew I wasn't. On the other hand, I do have first bite syndrome really bad. I have to drink something warm before I eat anthing. Luckily today, the swallow showed that I do not have very much restriction so hopefully I can get another fill soon. I am still where I was right after surgery. DEPRESSING!!!! Susan, I will be thinking about you. Let us know how everything comes out. Take care!

Just got back from Upper GI......
I hope so. I don't know how long it takes for Dr. Chappano to get the results....I hope it's soon.

Just got back from Upper GI......
and the radiologist told me I was wide open. I feel so relieved knowing that I still have some hope with this band. I also know why I was able to eat more than I should be able to. I guess my big problem now is dealing with the esophagial spasms. Someone either on here or another board mentioned some kind of medicine you could take. I would love to know what that is. Drinking something warm helps most of the time, but not all of the time. Thanks for everything!

My fill surgeon just told me....
I swear by the warm liquids before you eat. Try it and let us know if it works. I just keep a gallon of green tea (Arizona) in the fridge and warm up a small cup before eating. Works every time.

My fill surgeon just told me....
This is definitely NOT what I wanted to hear AND the only reason I admitted it to begin with (a while ago) was to be honest with everyone AND myself. That certainly DOES NOT mean I am not eating right most of the time...... I do. BUT and this is a BIG but......when you do eat right and exercise and the weight doesn't come off.......people tend to get fed up. I was there....am there....and frustrated as hell. I have a doc who tells me I'm getting full after two bites and people always telling me what I should and should not do. I don't need to be told not to eat junk food. I haven't really eaten junk food in 15 years. So I got a little frustrated and fell off the wagon..... This post was not about not losing at all. I just threw that in there. I needed to know what it feels like to be at optimum level. If I measure out a cup of food and eat it, I'll be looking for more food in an hour. I'm glad you have that kind of willpower if you're not at optimum level, but I don't.
