  1. How long did it take from the time your surgeon submitted the paperwork until Aetna approved the surgery. My paperwork was submitted last Friday to Aetna so I am waiting to be approved. K
  2. Nurse Kathy, thanks for the info, it is really appreciated and now I know that I am on the right track. Do you know if there is a requirment to actually lose a specific amount of weight during this time or any weight? K
  3. I also have Aetna and I am doing the three month multi-displinary plan. I have my first nutritionist and PCP appointment the first week of August. I have had an appointment with both the nutritionist and PCP the first week of September, October and have plans for Novemeber then my paper work will get submitted. I tried to get exact details from Aetna when I first started the three month. They told me that it was up to my PCP to interpret the rules to qualify for the three month multi-displinary (helpful, huh!). I decided not to take any chances so I decided to do the full 90 days. I hope you have success and get approved.
  4. I am glad to see that there are actually other people who are trying for the 3 month multi discipline to get approval from Aetna for the lap band surgery. I am due to end my 3 month run the first week in November and I am a little apprehensive about sending the paper work in. It is good to know others have done it and been approved.
  5. I wish you luck on your journey. I am also from Michigan and I am planning to have the lap band procedure as soon as I can get approval from insurance. Who did your surgery and are you satisfied with the doctor? Kay
  6. I am planning to use Dr. Nunn at Forrest Hills (Barix Clinic) in Ypsilanti. I am not sure what the self pay is there but they have been very helpful. I am going through insurance so I am still waiting on a date.
