  1. I am 18 days post op and I have lost 23 lbs. I have been for the last two weeks experiencing body shakes, feeling faint and feeling very jittery early in morning and during the day and just a lack of wanting to eat. I thought it was low blood sugar but tested with a machine during this feeling and blood sugar was almost perfect! Has anyone else experienced this? i probably will call my doctor or dietician monday if it doesn't go away! Just wondering if anyone was experiencing any of these symtoms.
    Hope someone can help!
  2. It's been a while since I posted last and alot has happened since then. I am currently down 17 pounds from my surgery date of September 29, 2008 and finally feeling normal. Surgery day went well, no major complications, Got sick from the anesthesia, but that only lasted an hour or two and took no pain med once i left the hospital. The first week was really hell, with the hunger and gas pain, but now i am 12 days post op and feel like a million bucks. i had a couple of days of severe hunger about day 3 or 4 and finally figured out what my body needed. my sugar gets low at times with shaking and nervousness but I think that has finally subsided. feeling great and ready to start working out. good luck to all the lapband newcomers. it's really not that bad if you can get over the first week. see ya:tt2:
  3. Well went for my pre-op appt this morning and my surgery is officially set for Monday morning at 6:30 in the morning:eek:. I am so excited to be finally this close to my new adventure in life. I am a little nervous, not about the journey, but about the surgery in general. But I figure, two natural births, this should be a piece of cake. Gotta go see you in a few days.
  4. Well, officially one week until my lapband procedure 9-29-08.:rolleyes2: I have my pre-op tomorrow, and not sure what I am in for. ANYBODY KNOw what goes on?????:tt2: Probably not much to worry about, but so excited to begin this journey. Getting a tad bit nervous about actual procedure, because I have never had surgery before. But I am willing to endure the pain to get to a new life. Thanks everybody for all the support. I'll hopefully post more tomorrow after I visit the doctor for Pre-Op!!!!
  5. THERE IS HOPE! Finally after 4 months of test and waiting, I finally received my approval letter today. It started back in June when I originally had my Lap band seminar and doctor's visit. After several test, and waiting 2 long months, I am finally scheduled for surgery on September 29, 2008.:cursing: My pre-op is scheduled for September 23, 2008 and I couldn't be happier. :frown: It is a miracle I am having this surgery, due to the fact that I have a BMI of 35 and only two co-morbidities of reflux, high cholesterol, and few minor other things. Thank you God for this second chance at life. See ya soon with updates!
  6. I have a low BMI of 36, and my doctor is looking for 2 co-morbidities. Does anyone know what some of them are for Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield of SC? I have GERD and High cholesterol along with some other minor problems. Are these what he is looking for? Thanks and hope someone can help??????
  7. I just joined today, so I am really new at all this stuff. I have started my Lap Band Journey, have been through my Nutritionist and Psycologist appointment, received my referrel letter from my family physician, and now am waiting on my approval from the insurance company. I have Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield in SC, and was wondering if anyone else has this same insurance and if they could tell me if the approval goes fast? I am 33 years old 5'7" and 233 lbs and my BMI is 37 any chance? Look forward to the replies. Thanks and keep me in your prayers, after years of battling obesity and failed attempts at dieting, I am now ready to start my new journey! Thanks and God Bless!
