Bloated-4 days since being banded
I got re-banded on October 4th!! Only today have I felt like I can actually walk or suck my stomach in, I've had so much gas that I've felt miserable and totally uncomfortable, it's gotten better today and the only pain or uncomfortableness I have is where the incisions are, so I'm very happy. I've only been taking panadol solueable but didn't take any yesterday and now feel good, so I guess for me it was time that eased my pain. I hope everything gets better for you!!!!

Unfilled and now even tighter than before
I had the exact same problem, I went in for x-rays and they discovered my pouch had stretched so now I'm going in for my band to be repositioned! You should ask them whether this could be the case with yours?? Hope everything goes ok!! Xo

Young and scared
Don't be scared!! Life only gets that much better after lapband!! I was 18 when I had it done, I'm now 21 and am so greatful everyday that I had the courage to go through with it! You'll have your ups and downs but for the most part it'll be all worth it in the end! Have fun with it!!

Oooops! Stretched pouch
I actually have to go back in and have my band repositioned because my pouch has stretched, it's stretched so much that it won't reverse on it's own. I'd always thought that if it had stretched I could go on liquids and it would go back, my Dr. said it won't, so it's interesting to see what other Dr's have said!

Not Quite in Bandster Mentality
After three years I STILL feel like I need to eat huge amounts! I will still serve myself the same amount of food that everyone else is eating, it's such a mental thing, just like you said, Agdunkle!

Stretched Pouch
Hello! I was just wondering whether anyone elses pouch has stretched and have needed surgery?? A bit about me.... I'm 21 years old and I've had the band since November 2008, my starting weight was 116 and I'm now down to 75 (give or take a couple of kilos, I fluctuate!). My goal is 65! My problem is, almost 2 weeks ago, I had all the Fluid taken out of my band and now still I am having trouble eating, it's becoming more and more uncomfortable for me to eat, even after only a small amount, after seeing my doctor he has sent me off for x-rays (which I'm having on Wednesday) and said that he's checking to see if the pouch has stretched, because I shouldn't be getting the heart burn and so much restriction. I know it's only 2 days away but I'm worried that I'll have to go back in for them to re-position the band. So I guess my question is... 1. Who's had this same problem and who's had to have it repositioned? 2. How was your weight affected, did you gain or lose weight? Can't wait to hear back from you all XOX

Somemthing i've been wondering - college students
Hey I had my surgery a week before my end of year exams and I found the only problem was that the wounds were still quite tender and I'd been having panick attacks and had to try and calm myself down in the exam. But as far as walking etc. I'm sure you'll be fine, it's quite tender for a week I'd say but after that it's just a nuiscance more than anything. Goodluck!!!

Help please!
Hey. I'm exactly the same, I've had my band since last November, so around 7 months. I've lost around 10 or 11 kgs, and am completely discouraged, It's been so much harder for me than I thought it would be. I know the big thing for me is that I'm not eating properly, I don't eat for my full 20 minutes and often skip lunch and snack. I went to see my dietician a week ago and she told me that's probably the reason I'm not losing the weight like I should be!

I'm failing, help
WOW! Andrea & RestlessMonkey! I came on here this morning cause I was feeling sooo guilty, and I read what you guys had written and nearly cried. Now I feel hopeful again, I haven't lost weight in a while, only fluctuating between 97.5 and 98.5. Thankyou guys so much for posting that :scared2: Andrea, I would never have admitted I was failing, I'd be too scared to say anything incase people had a go at me, you are sooo brave! Has anything changed for you? Are you feeling better about it now? XO

Milk? :S
Just wondering about MILK? 1. Is it bad for us? I've been having coffees everytime I feel hungry, lowfat milk tho. Is that really bad? I only have max 3 a day. 2. If we're not supposed to drink while we eat, what about milk in our Cereal? I drink the milk by itself inbetween bites of the cereal. I don't think I was ever told not to drink milk, I know the dietician said to not drink my calories, so fruit juice etc. was bad, but I can't remember what she said about milk. What do you guys do? xo

I'm not banded, my 19 year old daughter is - help!
Hi, I'm 18years old and I had the band in November 08'. I've lost 10kgs so far but that was in the 2 weeks before the surgery and the few weeks after, since then i've hardly lost any and am starting to feel quite disheartened and have wondered whether i should also go back to dieting (shakes, pills etc.) I'd loveeee to talk to you daughter, I have no one my age that has the band and am not really into going to group meetings. (I know I'm big but I don't really like admitting it to a group of people). Let me know if she'd be interested, we could motivate each other :) <3 Danieka x
