  1. Two mos post op 4/29. I feel like the loss is slowing down. Since surgery Im down 33 lbs. I weigh weekly and in the beginning it was 5 lbs down, etc. Now its 1.5 down or sometimes just the same. Im taking in anywhere from 750-950 calories a day, usually toward the lower side, eating 100 grams sometimes more protein and being very careful, I always prioritize protein. Also Im walking 30 min 4/5x a week. Any advice? Just keep on and trust the process?
  2. ok, I goofed. Last night, I was feeling very capable since Ive done so well since surgery. Well, I was too cocky apparently, bc I shouldnt have done this at 3 weeks, 2 days. I ate almost 4oz of prime rib last night. I chewed it very well. It seemed ok until it wasn’t. I was in pain and for the first time being sleeved I vomited. This a.m I wasn't the least bit hungry , felt fine otherwise, so I just had water till about noon. I could only get 2 oz of my protein oats down. Then about 2 hours later, Im struggling getting some chili down. Do you think that steak is still hanging out in my stomach? I’d appreciate your feedback.
  3. this is wonderful news!!! Congratulations!
  4. I am 9 days post op . this morning I poured myself 4 ounces of a premier protein shake out of the refrigerator. I sipped it I didn’t think very quickly. I literally took one sip, had a pain in my stomach and I immediately needed to use the bathroom. I noticed since the last day or so, this has been happening, Whether or not my food is cold or room temp. I’m also experiencing at that same time stomach cramps. Is this dumping syndrome? I don’t think I did anything out of the ordinary I’m not having any added sugar that wasn’t already in the protein shake. Has anybody else experienced this, or has any idea?
  5. My surgery was yesterday and Im just waiting for my ride home. I feel good overall, I tire easily and my tummy os sore. Im happy- its going to be an adjustment for sure.
  6. After being postponed January 11th, I just recd clearance for February 29th. Suddenly all the things I left for last minute or due. I am so excited.
  7. My original date was 1/11, but a case of RSV had me rescheduled me to February 29th. My surgeon advised the lean protein, certain low carb/low gassy vegetables and protein shakes diet, max of 900 calories per day. Also the sugar free popsicles, jellos etc. I did it before my first date was cancelled and lost 10+ pounds. Im looking forward to it.

As of Wednesday I was all clear. However, the pulmonologist read my sleep study which shows I have severe sleep apnea. He is going to try and get connected w my own machine before my surgery on the 11th- I told him that I don't want to delay my surgery. Its been scheduled for 6 mos. Anyone hear about this being an issue? Cant they just have a cpap and adjust at the time of the surgery? The dr’s office had my report.

Has anyone in early January had a pre op appointment yet, where they tell you what your pre op diet will be ? I havent had it yet and I am 1/11. I read the guidelines and its not totally liquids. That surprised me.
