Anyone know of Dr De Bruyne Chris
Hi flirty hows it going .I have had reflux when i was too tight and when i was lying down acid would come back up usually during the night.Once i got a slight defill it went away .I have the same symptoms you mention since i got restriction especially in the morning. If i drink water quick when i get up it gurgles down like water going down a block sink if you know what i mean.I take big gulps when in drinking so have had to get used to taking smaller sips.Like you say i get i get it were its like trapped air in my throat and i feel like burping but cant.It is quite embarrassing as i think people can hear it going down .It does ease off as the day goes on i think its the band shrinking when your sleeping and when i eat food it opens the band up a bit letting the fluids go down a little easier.

Well a happy new year to all thee newbies and oldies. To answer your question sue. Wendy at WLS says that if I dont get restriction on my next injection I will probably need an xray to see if there is something wrong (which has worried me a little !!!) Can anyone tell me if this is unusual as I thought I would be there by now but I can still tuck into a fish and chip dinner with no problem at all !! Well as you can see by the amount of fills i have had i wouldn't worry .I started to panic that there was something wrong with the band but its just some of us take alot longer than others to get restriction. I would say you have restriction to some extent homecare .I have had the same thing as yourself in the past with the pain but i have learned to chew my foods properly and slowly so don't get any pain now.I seem to be able to eat more when I'm in my own house than in a restraunt as my band seems to get tighter when I'm in public for some reason.I think you need to learn to read the signs if there is any of when the food is starting to back up in your band and stop eating that should stop the pain.Plus i think it depends on what kind of foods you are eating minced beef i used to struggle with a bit. Well thats me back on track after a bad month i had put on 8lb over the holiday period old habits kicked in again .But i have managed to loose 6lb of them since the 2nd so starting to feel a bit better now.I have got my head round what i need to do again so heres hoping i can loose my final stone or so in the coming months

Hi Katy i have a drink 2-3 times a week and it has not bothered me .Once i got the band i felt drunker quicker but this was as you were only allowed to have liquids at the start and i had nothing in my stomach to absorb the alcohol. Now there is no problem as i am eating solids and although i cant drink as much as i used to i can still shift a few bevy's when i want to .And it has not relay been to much of a problem to my weight loss.

First of all welcome to the site .You wont look back after you get the surgery. For getting fills in new york you would be best starting a new thread asking the new yorkers about where they get there fill for the area you are going to be staying in but i cant see it being a problem for fills. I like you was thinking the same that i would miss my food and that i dont know if i want to get the band as i like eating so much .But the truth is there is nothing i cant eat after getting the band. The difference is i can only eat a quarter of the size portions i used to . Plus you will get used to the fact if you stuff your face you will be in a lot of pain .The restriction of the band prevents you from doing this plus you feel fuller quicker with the band. If you have any more questions just ask everyone on heres been at the same stage as yourself

Thats too true fatpant i know how impatient i was to get total restriction and then when i got relay tight i was like sh1t i dont know if i like this.I never had it as bad as yourself but i did have it where i could hardly get water down and had acid reflux during the night making me sick during my sleep which is not a good experience. So as fatpants say be patient. Well thats me had my monthly weigh in and i have lost 3lb taking me to a total of 7 and a half stone.I did want to loose a bit more in the run up to Christmas but its still a loss.Just hope i dont put much or any weight on over Christmas as my Xmas used to start about the 5th of dec buying in loads of goody's and crap and booze and that was me till after new year until i started the NEW DIET so this year hopefully will be different fingers crossed. Your looking great in your photo carriejess your legs are relay slim they are as thick as my arms.lol How did yous two get on today timeisnow and homecare?

Cheers flirty, gary homecare Good for you flirty i think now you deserve to have decent restriction for the money you've spent.Sometimes its the only way in life you'll get somethings is by complaining.Fred obviously thinks because you've done so well that you must have had restriction but you know yourself you haven't.Its sods law but i bet you this is the time when you get your next fill at Christmas you'll be as tight as hell and you wont be able to have a Christmas dinner.lol I'm sure with all the exercises you do Gary you'll be fine .If i could do a tenth of what you do it would fall off me.lol Do you think that will be you with fills for this year? I'm delighted for you home care thats brill when you put it like that as I'm sure it wont be long before you get to your goal.

Hi jennyo if you have full restriction you would be advised to get a little taken out on long haul flights as the cabin pressure tightens the band.It does not effect it if your not at full restriction or the flights are only a few hours long as i have flew about 6 times since getting the band. It certinly is not a mirical cure which alot of people think it is .Its hard work its just like been on a diet but with a helping hand not to eat as much.

Well thats me weighed in and had a fill 4lb lost this month which im pleased at as i felt i had been realy bad this month.I had 0.75 put in and just had a protien shake feeling the restriction already.:tongue2: Hi jenno dont worry everyone feels the same before getting it done.Your probebly right i thought the same before i got it done i thought i dont know if i want this as i like my food to much. But there is nothing i cant eat just smaller amounts. You realy need to work with the band as its only a tool to help you not eat loads. Band fills are part and parcel of the band. Some people get restriction after a few fills others like myself and flirty have took loads .If your traveling in may you may not have full restriction so you will be able to fly no probs.

Hi wishful Its just away of getting you back on track with shrinking your band back too its original size.Putting you on liquids for a few days then soft mushes. If you goggle it there is loads of sites that talk about how you do it .I think if you search on this site to loads of people have done it too.

Anyone know of Dr De Bruyne Chris
Alright m8 i know what your taking about .I think its because as your not eating your band shrinks back too the size it was when you get your restriction at a fill and the days and weeks after your fill it slowly stretches and thats how you can eat more and more.If that makes sense? Thats how the 5 day pouch test works by making you go on liquids for the first few days too shrink your band back too the original size. But obviously the liquids are not alcohol.lol

Anyone know of Dr De Bruyne Chris
Hi all congratulations Mandy on your new arrival .You will just need to stick in there until you get your restriction.I think it took me a while to get my head round that if you keep getting stuck and end up in pain it meant i was eating too fast or too much.If you dont chew properly this will happen also.If you dont get your head round these three things when you do get more restriction the pain will just get worse.Like gary said a few pages back the band is just a tool your eating patterns have to change like i have found out and most people who have had sticking episodes. The band can change how much we put in our stomach but not how much we put in our mouth and how quick .Still today sometimes i put a mouthfull of food in without realizing I'm still chewing food.I hope you get your half stone off for Xmas i will be trying for that my self.Good luck Feel sorry for you flirty thats some amount of money to shell out for no restriction. But you have done great and you know yourself if you didnt have the band it would of been a hell of a lot harder.Ps if i had to shell out that kind of money i would be ranting too.lol Great photos gary and you too bev that Soup still gives me the baulk thinking of it. Keep your chin up timeisnow it will get easier. if you keep up your exercise it will pay off eventually.

Anyone know of Dr De Bruyne Chris
Hi all I thought I would post today as this is my bandaversity.Yep one year ago today I was lying on a slab getting my insides poked about by dr chris de bruyne.Weighing in at 23st 2lb (324lb).As of today I am now weighing in at 16st (224lb).So 100lb in one year to the day I could not have asked for any more. The journey has not been easy but well worth it .I did not realy get restriction untill 7-8 months after I had the op so a lot if it was will power and dieting. Before I had the op I weighed up the options of me not having surgery to having it .The positives were out numbering the negatives what was the worst that could happen. I could die on the operating table or I could die with the excess weight I was carrying or with all the problems you have with being obese. Some of the things that have changed In my life since I have lost the weight have pleased me .I can now go to the swimming with my kids which I never done when I was at my heaviest as I was too embarrassed . I am also able to fit in the seats on roller coasters now where a year ago I would never have even tried .Im now like a big kid when we go to the fun fair.We have even booked up for orlando for next june due to the weight loss.Im also able to take the kids round the the park on the bikes which they love. They have a new dad now which is one of the reasons I had the op .I don’t want my children’s lives to pass me by with me not being able to do things normal dads do. I have also set a date for my wedding which I would not have done if I had not lost the weight. Its only taken me 8 years to set the date lol. I have lost at least 10 inches from my waist 12 inches from my chest and 3 inches from my neck.So the only negative is I have had to buy a full new wardrobe of clothes. Although I have not lost all the weight I want too if I had to stay at this weight I would be quite happy. The last time I was at this weight I was 16 years of age. So for anyone thinking of getting the band done or is just starting the journey I would say it can be done go for it. I have been using this site for a year now and it has given me so much inspiration reading other peoples success story and looking at the before and after photos really spurned me on . I only hope my story can inspire someone thinking of getting the band that it can change your life round and all for the better.
