Anyone know of Dr De Bruyne Chris
Hi kerry it is normal for the port area to be painfull and quite tight and you will get a pulling feeling .This is just your port bedding in to your skin and when your moving or turning it will be tugging at this part of the skin causing the pain .Once it is totally bedded in the discomfort will stop. I have a problem in the morning will swallowing anything as the day goes on it eases off. This is because during the night your band relaxes and goes back to its original size and by the morning it will be tight and as you are not putting anything in there and as the day goes on and you eat it will slightly stretch.

No problems starky.A little tip for you get rid of all your big plates that you have in the house and start eating off a side plate. It was the best thing i done .We had very large plates and the natural thing to do is fill the plate up so you tend to eat more if its on your plate. So our plates went under the stairs and we bought 8 side plates .At the start the kids were complaining about their portion size but now they dont even notice the difference and by cutting their portion size down hopefully the wont have the same problems as i have had with my weight. You just need to say to yourself thats enough is enough and get back on track.Hope this helps bobo x

Hi starsky yes it is restriction to a certain extent.I think you have to find a happy medium to what you think restriction is i have been to the stage were i can only eat a few mouth fulls i did not like the feeling of me backing up after a few mouthfulls and i dont think thats healthy anyway.Like Gary says to freckles that her body is in to starvation mode and you dont relay loose weight when this happens. When i get to the stage were the food starts backing up and the saliva starts to come up thats my sign to say my band has had enough so i stop eating. There is nothing i cant eat now that i did not eat before the band just smaller portions.Don't get me wrong sometimes when the saliva and the backed up feeling goes away i will go back to what i was eating but most of the time i just leave it as by the time it goes away i have lost the notion or the foods cold. Allot of my restriction is self restriction the bands only a tool to help me along the way.I would get a little put in but make sure you don't get to much because it is a horrible feeling if you are to tight as a few folk on here would tell you.

Hi freckles i have a simalar problem where i struggel with liquids that if i drink them to quick i bring it back up .After i eat a meal it usualy takes about 15 minutes before i can drink and i have too just take tiny sips to make sure the food has passed my band or it will just act like a blocked drain and usualy comes back up.

Hi lindsay the package you get for the six months is good for the fact this will be when you will need the most fills in the first six months to get you to your restriction.Financially it works out alot cheaper and the care you get off Wendy and her man Steve is second to none i dont think you will hear anyone who has been with Wendy say a bad word about them.I felt as if she gave me alot of time the first time i went to see her as i had loads of questions to ask as she is very knowledgeable about it. On the other hand alot of people like to go to dr chris and freddy as they feel more confident going to the people that have done the op in case there is any problems.Hope this helps

Hi susie the dressings they put on you on the hospital stay on for 4/5 days so you will not need to take any with you .I just changed mine when the ones they put on started to peel off and gett a little grubby looking.

Good luck to the ones away to get banded .Its not till next year homcare so have a bit to weight .Good for you not putting any on when you were away.I lost 2lb which takes me under the 15st mark which is a another confidence boost i will be getting a defill next month as im going on hol so that will be a challenge when i have no restriction.Great stats gaz it wont be long till you get under that magical 20st mark.I knew it was a big milestone for me.I think you will revise your goal once you get nearer it as thats what i have done.I thought to my self if i can get to 16st why can i not get to 15st but great weight loss keep up the good work.

Hi jasmine the injections you have to give yourself is for five days after the surgery. They are so your blood dose not clot. They are painless you just have to grab a bit of fat on your belly and stick the needle in.I got my partner to do mine.I think if you asked most people on here they were horrified at the thought of giving them self injections but if you had to asked them if it was painfull or hard to do most folk would say it was not.Don't worry about it.

Hi kerry i dont know if its just for fact you have just been drinking liquids it will just run through the band .When your taking anything thicker it might just be sitting in the pouch and because you will be tender in the inside this might be giving you the dull ache.If i can remember back when i was banded and ate anything thicker than liquids it felt very heavy on my chest .I dont know if this is the same kind of feeling your getting.?

Well just thought i would post my good news that i have finally got to my goal I'm now officially 15 stone (210lb)which is a total weight loss of 8 st 2lb or (114lb) so I'm well chuffed. At the start of this journey i never thought i would get to this weight which i have never been at since i was 15 years of age .I'm still officially classed as obese as my bmi is 30.18.So my new goal is to get my bmi to 29 so that I'm just overweight. If i get my weight to 14 st 7lb(205lb) that will get me there. And after that i think thats where the real hard part will start trying to maintain my weight and not gain as i have done many times over the years. So for all you new bandsters out there thats just started there journey it CAN be done you just need to know how to work with your band and eventually it will pay off.:frown:

Hi jersey if its on your left side it is probably your port.Your port is stitched to the inside of your belly and if its starting to heal the muscles and fat that is around that area will start to grow back together and when your bending up and down and moving about this will be tugging it .It will take about 4-6 weeks for it to have healed. It should ease off as the weeks go by you just have to take it easy and dont move to quick.

Cheers big sis ehhhhh we will say no more about the jeans i have grew out of that fad of wearing the mrs clothes.lol We are saving up for florida this year so the wedding is planned for next year not decided if im wearing a skirt or ehh i mean a kilt or a suit.haha.Good to see you and gillian back on. You made me chuckel cankster with your comment about the shaving at the hospital .I remember when i was there i was just getting comfortable in the bed when i checked in when a nurse came in with a razor and said lift up your gown .So i lifted it up and she started shaving my pubic hair .I was like waittttt its a op on my belly im in for she said i will get to that i was mortfied. So im lying there starkers getting my under caridge shaved when fredrick walked in and started asking me if i was ok double mortified. So if your a guy make sure you have a shave before you go and im not talking about your face.

Yes thats true freckles i think once most folk are banded and know how it works and all the ins and out they dont need the forum as much as they did before and at the start of thier journey.I still keep up to date and pop on and read all the threads. Its good to see all the newbies come on and ask all the same questions we did at the start of the journey. And if i can pop up and answer any question that anyone might have i will.

Hi flirty cheers. Not doing to bad weight loss slowed right down a bit like yourself i have been putting a bit on and taking a bit off dont seem to be getting any run inthe loosing side.Im still doing the atkins style diet eating loads of protien but i might change it about a bit and go on to a low cal eating plan to see if the speeds it up any .I have slight restriction but im not wanting to get more in as the gurgling we were talking about earlier gets worse the more restriction i have .I can still eat anything at christmas we were out and i could eat a main and a pudding so alot of the restriction is self restriction.Im quite happy with my weight just now but you know yourself you aways strive to loose that little bit more weight.Im looking to loose a another stone and i will be at my target. Are you going to fred for your fill.?
