  1. Please don't get soo frustrated, the lap band is a tool, not a cure all. I was banded 8/2006 and only lost 70 pounds in the first year. After a long plateau, I finally got serious and started to eat right and diet. Cardio is the best thing you can do for yourself. If only 30 minutes at a time right now,,,,maybe do 2 or 3 times a day if you can. Swimming is also good cardio, esp if you have bad joints. I am not sure of your situation, but feel free to keep in contact if I can be of any help. p.sticern@yahoo.com
  2. I am going to have some friends send me some before pics,,I never kept them and now of course wish I had. As soon as I do, I will be glad to share them!
  3. Oh,, and I almost forgot,,,this was the best decision I ever made and would do it again in a heartbeat! Yes, its not always easy, but ooh so worth having my life back! I know the scary part,,,I was scared and this website made it worse for me. this is the fist time I have been on here in almost 2 years!
  4. The band is there, I can feel it but its not bothersome,,,,maybe in the future I will have it replaced with the new lower profile one. I do get sick some, usually just poor food choices on my part. Good luck with your surgery, let me know if i can help
  5. Hi Everyone, my name is Patty and I had the lap band august of 2006. I started at 279, size 24/26 and my original goal was 180 and hopefully a size 12. Currently I am 170 and a size 10/12 and couldnt be happier with my body! I am a traveling nurse, currently in Ft lauderdale, fl. I am looking for a doctor here, just starting here for help. Let me know who you are using and who to stay away from. I think I need just a tad removed from my band....I have not been doing well with my eating lately, not sure if its stress or the band? Anyway, glad to be here amongst friends.
