hello, Jane from Virginia here. I am 54, and have been 100 pounds overweight since 1989. i've developed type two diabetes, and osteo. very discouraged, i've done much research and began lap band process last august 08. it's less invasive and can help these two conditions i have read. I am new, so any input you can email me would be really nice. good luck and best wishes, jmotley54@cox.net thanks, jane
  2. Hello PamRN, My name is Jane and I live in Chesapeake, Va. I am 54 years old, and am 5 foot 5, weigh 279 pounds. I have oseoarthritis, daily ankle and wrist pain, and am type two diabetic, on insulin at night, and Actos. I have continued to go up on the scale in the last three years, a year a go I weighed 241. I think the Actos and insulin has caused me to go up. I don't eat tons, i do get on the elliptical but my menopause also i thnk is a facor. I'm not wanting to do the bypass at all. i saw my sister suffer. dumping, puking, and now anorexic. i saw your profile and wanted some advice. I started my journey to do lap band last august of 2008. well, i finally have my surgery date of june 17th this summer. i will drink slim fast 5 times a day for two weeks prior to surgery. I'm willing to sacrifice to finally feel good again and get off 100 pounds. even if it takes a year or two. any helpful advice? thanks, jane
