  1. Good Luck to you and welcome to the journey
  2. I went in at 191 but I am only 5', have diabetes, high cholesteral and high blood pressure. My was approved. at least 2 before your surgery the dr will put you on a diet with liquids and proteins. so they will be expecting you to lose a little. I wouldnt stress over losing a few pounds, I think it depends on health improvements they expect to happen
  3. I had the robotic surgery 4/12. My scars look the same as the picture. 5 holes across. I have to tell you the only pain I had was the gas pain in the chest and took pain meds right out of surgery. Tylenol in the morning and nothing since then. I was up and moving. When they tell you to walk-walk it helps

  7. I had my surgery 4 days ago and have been wanting food too. It seems to me it is just the habit of eating as I am not hungry. So far I have found anything really cold in not sitting well. This morning I had decaf coffee with cremora and was fine until 20 m later when I started sipping on a protein shake. Threw it all up. then later for lunch. threw up more protein shake. The rest of the day I have kept down, chicken broth, water with crystal light, sugar free jello and premier protein clear drink with no problem. I think maybe I need to wait another day before I start the the yogurt and pudding. Although I did drink some ensure at the hospital with no problems. I most certainly have to take small sips and I cannot imagine trying to chug anything, I was afraid to drink the cup of barium for the upper gi they did after the hospital. Dont feel bad for yourself. The first day after I was so sorry I did this but that is changing. Ive been keeping myself busy talking to family, watching TV, taking some walks around the house and yard and playing solitaire. One day at a time.

  9. Were prescribed anything for it? you have gasX I was given prilosec in the hospital and given gasX. I had surgery on Wed. but didnt leave the hospital until Sat. My dr prescribed protonix for a month. Are you walking a lot. That will help but that pain in the chest is a killer. I hope you get some relief soon
  10. + Thanks so much. I have a zoom with the nurse and group on Tuesday. We all had surgery the same few days so I will ask

  12. I am on day 4 after bypass and tried my decaf coffee with coffee mate and threw it up. Then for lunch I tried some strawberry protein shake and threw it up. I have kept down chicken broth, clear protein drin, hot tea, water with crystal light and sugar free jello, I am think maybe the coffee mate and the protein shake is too rich yet. Afraid to try the greek yogurt or pudding yet. Did anyone else have this
