  1. Hi I am on a roll right now and changed my goal. recent fill is working great!! this may be the 'sweet spot'!!
  2. All, one more week-Congrats to all who lost weight. Good luck to all who didn't ( Been there) Trying is the only way to succeed.
  3. umystifyme, just a suggestion- write down all the real attempts you have made to lose weight- don't rely on the doctor's records. You may have had the records transferred but have had many doctors in your attempts. it will help.
  4. kbsongbird, everything they say is correct. Sip, don't gulp. You are still healing from the surgery. Just take it easy. Everyone is different;. Some lose during this period and others do not. Focus on healing and changing your life, not seeing what the limits are. ( been there)
  5. There are no stupid questions but it is important to look at the basic information available. and be directed to it's location, if needed. -Or you could eat Power Bait.
  6. ALL, i finally made it!! 229.8# is 230# so i made it with a few days to spare !! yeah me. (It was a modest goal but still a struggle) .
  7. Carlene, You are confusing common terms and initials used everyday with those used only about the lapband and other weight loss surgeries. Example : PB can mean Peanut Butter, Power Bait, or with a lap band- Productive Belching. PLEASE go back to the Beginning and check out Frequently Asked Questions. Read these. I think the Section on Frequently Asked Questions about the Forums covers many terms and abbreviations. (one of them does) You need to look up these terms.

  10. LOLROLFL, where have you guys been ! so much of the Posts i've looked into here are SSOOO serious. Wish BandMeHard good Luck , she may need it.
  11. :thumbup:Hi All, i am officially at 230.4# . May make this goal yet!!!
  12. Band me hard, Sliders are exactly what you are describing. soft , that turn liquid, or very soft, when in the mouth- like Chocolate, ice cream, pudding, etc. They slide down your throat, no chewing. You can still gain weight eating that kind of food with a lap band. You need to figure out what your priorities are. To start, if you have regular doctor, Suggest you ask them for a referral 1st. They may have some recommendations and experiences with those who have had the surgery. There are hospitals across the country recognized as Centers of Excellence for Bariatric Surgery. Look on-line and contact a local hospital with this recognition. Good Luck
  13. Well, on Aug 5 i had a fill Next day pollen count was high and my sinuses reacted, By 5:00 on the 6th, couldn't keep anything down (sinus drainage filled my stomach to point of throwing up) Got some meds down, finally, had an un-fill on the 7th 9 found I'd lost 8# with the retching - gained it back) . Got Sinuses under control, on antibiotics, and had another fill on the 26th. i am very cautious, now. i do feel more restriction this time which is what I needed. :wink2:Let's hope for more wt. loss, now.

  15. Vickie, This is a setback, yes, but it could have been a blessing, too. it is possible if the band had not been deflated, it would slip and you would need another surgery to fix it. The pounds can come off again , once you heal. i went through a similar experience- developed a sinus infection the the day after a fill; made it through the night but ended up losing most of the fill (and 8 # in 36 hours- retching) .:frown: I waited 3 weeks (Gained it all back), got the allergies under control, and had another fill this week.It is OK. There will be an end to this. Do go see the Doctor who does your fills again. Maybe even your regular doctor can prescribe something for the reflux. I had a mild case but was put on medication for reflux prior to the surgery because of the probability it could get worse.
  16. SweetZ and V Queen, we were all banded about the same time. I crave sugar, too and rediscovered ice cream n July :thumbdown:But i also think it has something to do with the time since our surgery. The newness has worn off. and the wt. loss is slower. i went back to see a counselor;and got some health issues addressed (Had problems with sinuses). i have had 3 good days in a row, at the moment; and it makes a difference. Do see a doctor. even changing your routine exercises can help. You can do this.:frown:
  17. Count me in- 220 is my goal!! This challenge will be just after DD turns 21 and 5 days before my 1 yr post surgery date.
  18. Hi All, Am stalled, had sinus problems; But had a fill yesterday. Am the same. won't make 225 but may make 230 by Monday. Suppose i should set a goal of 225 by Sept 30th
  19. Gidgett, All insurance companies say they do not cover it t. But Most have criteria which if met, they will pay for the surgery. If you have a surgeon, check with his office. They deal with insurance Companies all the time . Ask here, esp in the Oregon groups. Sorry, I'm in NE and don't know your ins. Co. My insurance covered it in full. Others i know went to Mexico, cost was 2/3 of mine; even with the travel.
  20. Hi All, i'm still here. Had problems in August but got it fixed and a fill yesterday. At least have not gained Weight!! Count me in for Turkey Day !
  21. Hi Vickie, congrats!! Glad to hear you are doing so well!! Keep on Keeping on ! I keep trying . :tongue_smilie:At the moment, had to deflate a little- Sinus allergies caused problems with the last fill. Need to wit a bit.. Hang in there Congrats to You! P.S. I don't miss MCDee as much as a Jamocha shake from Arby's on occasion
  22. Hi, With the fill and unfill this month I am at 232#, :blushing:which is still 3 # below my weight on 8/1/08,but up1 # from last week. I will take any loss no matter how small (And I Don't want to repeat last week!!)
  23. I'm still back. Had an allergy problem ( sinus drainage) that affect the band. had an unfill. :sad:go back again Monday for another ( smaller fill) Will check weigh tomorrow. It is more than 231. everyone is doing so great!!

  25. Yes, I think YoPlait has some as do some local/regional brands. Dannon has some, too. Grabbed 2 from my fridge- Mixed Berry YoPlait Light - 0 fat, 20g of carbs, (including 14 g sugars)at 100 calories, and 5 g protein. (the berries will have natural fructose in it -no sugar is added) and a Dannon nonfat plain Yogurt - 80 calories, 0 fat, 12 g carb (including 12 grams of sugars) and 8 grams of protein. There is no sugar added, this is the milk sugar from the yogurt itself. A Single container of 6 oz is at least 80 calories minimum. Most of the ones I see are 80-120 calories , no fat, and little sugar, except naturally occurring sugar in fruit. Do read the labels !!
