Ok husband has had band for several years. He has struggled for sometime now. Haven't been able to go to get another fill, going in Jan and paying out of pocket. His knee keeps him from walking and doing most exercises. Any suggestions as to what to do?

Does anyone know how the dr determines which size band to use? My hubby has the 14cc and he is at 11.5cc in his band now and still not feelin gmuch restrictions. Could it be his band is too big?

mu hubby has a 14cc band. he was up to between 11-12 cc but not losing any weight. We even had his band drained for a month then filled. First was 8.5 cc then yesterday 3 cc more. Now he is up to 11.5 cc. I'm wondering if he should have had the smaller band. He has had this band since nov 2008

My hubby tends to have problems after his fill. He will feel restrictions for a day but that's about all. A friend told him to do liquids the day of his fill then do purees the day after. Finally then start back to solids. We have never really found the sweet spot, green zone for a long period of time. Any suggestions

It has been awhile since our last post....anyways....we are considering getting the Biggest Loser program for our Wii. Has anyone tried this or even the Jillian Michael's program?

Has anyone had the flu sincce being banded? Husband tried to vomit and couldn't. Anyone else had this experience?

If the band is not tightened at surgery and the fill doesn't come for 4-6 weeks, why then only liquids then mushie? The opening is then still the same as before. What have you been told the reason for this is? How can eating small bites, chewing extremly well, mess you up? Hubby starting to get really tired and hungry with this liquid bit.

This is great - how much have you lost in that month? I think I'll do the same for my hubby. Keep up the great work.

Call your surgeon.....my hubby's port started to leak yesterday. At the time we didn't realize it was the port. Anyways, this morning he went to the Immediate Care and they took a Q-tip and opend the hole where the leak was and patched him and told him to call his surgeon. Our dr said come in NOW. Dr said this isn't really that unusual and that his incision needed to stitched. Basically in my hubby it was a blood clot was had done something. Anyways, because it was clear that was good. Dr stitched him in the office and patched him and also started him on antibodic to prevent an infection. Not a major scare but definitely something to call about and do what he says. Hubby doing great now!!! This was all today. :thumbup: Good Luck - let me know what happens

Hubby had his surgery last Tuesday (11/11), yesterday his main wound started to seep clear liquids. Nothing discolored and wound is not red and hot. Has anyone had this happen to them and what did you do? I have cleaned with hydrogen proxide. He is nervous about it and probably will go to the local clinic. (dr is 2 hours away) Any suggestions?

I've heard that sometimes this happens when your body is low of protein. I'm not sure though. I have been trying to keep my hubby's protein level up. He doesn't have much hair to begin with. LOL We plan on asking the dr next week.

Hubby is wondering what you have had for your liquid diets during the first two weeks. He has been drinking slimfast, SF carnation breakfast, (I've added sf ice cream to this). Also, water of course...juices he has drank. Anything else?

How do you insert a tickerfactory? I went to the site and made one...now what?

My hubby was banded on Tuesday. He did great until last night. He was up most of the night with the dry he vies. He said he was feeling nausea. The doctor ordered two different meds for him. he is doing better tonight. How many of you dealt with the gas build up like this. He also has been taking tums (except for the last day) for 8 days.
