    Surgery date

I heard about Premier Clear and got some from Amazon. I love it! The peach is my favorite. This is going to be my drink going forward after being a soda lover.
  2. March 6th for me! Working my way through the pre-op liquid diet stage.

    Surgery date

Hi, my date is March 6th! I am cutting out carbs, sugar and caffeine this week. Starting liquid diet next week. Which surgery are you having? I am going with the bypass.
  4. I’m scheduled for an outpatient gastric bypass surgery at a BMI surgical center. Has anyone else had bypass as an outpatient? If so, what was your experience? Any helpful advice? I’m a little nervous to be going home the same day after this type of surgery. 😳

    Outpatient Gastric Bypass

I haven’t had the surgery yet. I’m scheduled for March 6th. They have told me that I’ll be sent home with anti-nausea and pain meds as well as medication for avoiding blood clots. They’ll also give me the battery operated leg compression devices to wear. My surgery is in the morning, I’ll be observed the remainder of the day and sent home later same day with on-call info if anything comes up. I’m having it done at a bariatric surgical center and they seem pretty proactive. I had to go through an approval process to determine if I qualified health wise to have it done there or if I would be required to have it at the hospital. I am self pay and it is much more affordable to do it through the surgical center. Keeping my fingers crossed and hoping all goes well. Still nervous about what my pain level will be like.
  6. I have been researching sleeve vs gastric bypass. I also take Methotrexate for inflammatory arthritis and was concerned about being able to continue taking it if I go with the bypass option. In my research I found that it’s possible to switch to the injectable form rather than the pill form (which I understand cannot be taken after bypass because it’s in the NSAIDs class). I did read also though that some say it can still be damaging since it still goes through the bloodstream. I’m also interested in hearing from anyone who has chosen the bypass option and how they manage their rheumatoid arthritis and inflammatory arthriis.
