HELP!! I have 9cc's in my 11cc band.....and i have gained all my weight back----- im scared to go back to the dr, i dont want to get yelled at.... In November I stopped losing and couldnt stop sleeping and I went to my primary dr where I found out that my Thyroid is all messed up again and my vit d was extremely low like a 4 out of 35. So I got that in check and was feeling soo much better and energetic by the time the holidays came around. Then two days before Christmas I got pneumonia and was put on bed rest for two weeks.......Then I recovered then through out my back and cannot do any exercise since then. I have been doing back therapy twice a week since then. And still am going... Yesterday I barely got released to do the elliptical with out using the moving bars. Thats when I weighed myself and was CRUSHED.... Now that I think about it, I should have noticed when I lost all the compliments and people asking how Im doing that I had gained weight..... The only positive thing from this is I havent exceeded preop weight....and I will NOT! Im scared that there is nothing they can do for me..... will they give me another fill since i am soo close......

Heyyy guys!! Sorry it took soo long for me to finally post how my surgery went! So on Thursday I arrived at the outpatient center at about 10:00 and was pulled back to prep at 10:30 -- My surgeon then came in and told me they were running behind so instead of going in at 12:30, I was going in at 1. Which was fine.. haha.. I was having fun with my best friend and my mom waiting in the pre-op area. Well then they took me back and I only remember them strapping me down and then I woke up in recovery. I could barely see a thing and had no idea what was going on and then the nurse came out of no where and was like we cant find your mom.. and I started having an anxiety attack and my blood pressure went up.. haha.. I didnt like that feeling and then they found her thank goodness. So after about an hour in recovery they moved me to my room and I was released to go home at about 9 pm after they controlled my nausea -- that was exciting.. I wasnt having any pain other than from the gas -- wow that really hurt for me.... I went home and had some broth and took some pain medicine and passed out for the night.. When I woke up I had a lot of pain from the gas and pretty much walked allll day. Now today the 3rd day .. I feel great!! I have little discomfort at the port site and all my other incisions havent even hurt one bit.. and the gas is subsiding-- woohoo! I decided not to take any of the pain medicine today i just took some liquid tylenol which helped with the discomfort and I am saving the prescribed pain medicine for sleepy time:wink2: Well I think thats it.. if I remember anything else I will let you know!! :tt2:

But other than that it was a good prep day. Right now I am in the car driving to Scottsdale Bariatric. I have to be there at 10:30 for my 12:30 surgery! hey guys just another reminder mine was moved to May 7th!! but everyone else lets get the domino effect going -- yay! for the mayo banditos!!!

I just wanted to let you know that I live in Glendale and am being banded on May 7th.. I have BCBS and they are great - I was approved in a week and I have a BMI of 39 and no co-morbidities.. I was soo nervous, but they approved me.. And Scottsdale Bariatric is great, they are on top of everything and have the nicest staff! I am having Dr Blackstone do my band, but Dr Sprunger is very nice too! I wish you all the best, and try not to worry too much... I did and I shouldnt have :smile2: Although sometimes you cant help it lol Message me if you have any more questions and you guys are pretty close to me if you live in Anthem

I havent had my surgery yet, but i just finished my pre-op class and they kept emphasizing that we would be up to 20 lbs heavier after surgery because of all the fluids and swelling of the feet and hands and not to be scared. But to fix it she told us to keep taking sips of water to flush the fluids out of our body. Hope that helps

BOOOOOO the bariatric center called me this morning... they moved my surgery to May 7th... so an extra week added on, it was the 1st... oh well... good things are worth the wait

YAY!! Congrats! We get banded the same day!! What I want to know is, how come everyone has a pre-op diet and I dont, the only requirement is Clear liquids the day before and to lose 10 lbs.!! I wish I had something to follow rather than doing it on my own.... something a little better to help me prepare for after...

I had a similair situation.. My insurance required people to have a BMI of 40 or higher or if they are lower than 40, they have to have co-morbid diseases. Soo I too was very nervous when they sent my paperwork in for approval. But the lady at the bariatric center was honest and told me it was going to be a struggle, but that she would help me. I too have a huge family history of obesity, diabetes, heart problems, etc... She encouraged me to get two different primary care physicians to write a letter about their decision to support me and for me to write a letter to the insurance describing what i have been through with dieting and losing weight and how being overweight since a child has affected me. Im guessing it worked because they approved me in a week, and the staff at the bariatric center was shocked because I guess my insurance is very strict about their guidelines. My advice is dont give up and keep pushing the insurance... good luck to you!! :thumbup:

WOW.... I woke up this morning excited because I started Weight Watchers a week ago to start losing weight on my own because I didnt know what the outcome of the insurance was gonna be and I just want to be healthy and since it had been a week it was time to weigh myself. I lost 7 lbs!!! :thumbup: Then as I was walking back to room already excited, my phone started ringing and little did I know it was Scottsdale Bariatric calling to tell me that I was APPROVED!!!! I didnt believe her, I have been trying to get approved since Oct 6 2008, it was such a long road of trying to get my doctor to help me. I instantly started crying it was not the reaction I thought I was gonna have.. I thought I would jump up and down and scream and all I could do was cry tears of happiness. It was crazy. She started telling me my schedule of the next two months including my pre-op edu class, pre-op visit, surgery, fill, dietician visit, post op edu class. It was waaay too much to take in.... When I got off the phone I went to my brother and he knew from all the tears and me smiling at the same time... I didnt even have to expain. He couldnt believe it. He had asked me everyday since October if I heard anything ..it was starting to get old.. but it finally paid off.. Everything is going good now, I know what I have to do.. everyone supports me... its just the start of new beginnings.... the feeling is undescribeable.... i feel like today was a dream... PS. To top it all off, my best friend Zac came over and he had no clue i had gotten the phone call, and he told me we were going to the zoo today and I replied back with a huge smile .. I got approved... What a day :) The zoo topped it off!! I just had to get that all out!! :smile:

I guess something worked because I got approved, granted it was a long road and the girl who runs the authorizations at the Bariatric Center said they sent it back a couple times but she kept returning it and telling them they needed to go over it again.
