  1. My doctor changed my meds to get me off insulin, and the glyboride did wonders. My numbers are in the low 100's but it seems I have gained over 5 lbs while on it. He said it is known to do that. He is more concerned with good numbers, then the effects from the band. These are 2 different doctors.
  2. I just got a fill yesterday and am at 2cc after 2 years. I feel very restricted.
  3. Bigmumma, What is the brand of the Vitamins? I just had a fill yesterday and the pill vitamins that worked before are not today and I don't wanna keep trying. Thanks
  4. I had one fill a year ago at Fill Centers USA and then they closed. I moved to Seattle 6 weeks ago and found a fill doctor. Last Tuesday, he couldn't find my port and suggested we try next Tuesday. I read about leaks and such and talked to him and asked him his liability to me and a leak. He's gonna try next week and if not, I'll get a refund, and go to my original doctor in Mexico for fill # 2.
  5. Lilly!ay, where do you come from, and when we're you last down there? Do you take a cab, or walk?
  6. Hi, have you found the information yet? I was banded by Dr Kuri in Tijuana. I can get the phone number if you want?
  7. Since your already banded, what is your process? I've heard people take the bus, trolley, and taxi to hospital Angeles. I've been banded for 2 years and never went to my doctor for a fill. Since my doctor can't find my port, I need to do something, that is going to my original doctor to get filled. Thanks
  8. I am down to 192 from 223 and feel like I'm at a stand still but, also I feel like its better shaping, not pounds. Does that make sense?
  9. So what do you do? How many fills have you had, and or need? Today, I went for a fill and after numerous attempts he said he didn't wanna keep going so I'll go back next week.
  10. So is it like bypass? Somewhere here I described my FIL's efforts at the band for 2 years. Nothing helped him, so finally he got the bypass, has maintained his weight wonderfully and looks great.
  11. Where do you currently go to get filled? Where was your surgery? Can you not ask him to be a lil more ambitious in the fills? I was banded in Mexico and have yet to get a fill there for fear of safety. I now live in Seattle, and have found a doctor here, had one fill. Not sure if my band doctor does fills for non-patients. His name is Pedro Kuri.
  12. Phoebster, Thank goodness for your good news. Is it possible that your referring to phen-fen, of which Phentermine was half of that duo? I researched this, seen lawsuits, heart problems and everything in between, as of now Phentermine is only available by prescription, and is okay to take, according to what I've read. Either way, asking questions to our practicing doctors whom are supposed to be looking out for our best interest is key!
  13. Well, I guess we all have feelings about everything. Our right! Funny thing, my MIL is in clinical trials for Allergan and the lapband and other products. My FIL was banded before 2 years before he realized the band wasn't for him, he's got a huge sweet tooth and is a big drinker. So he got the bypass, and has kept his weight off and looks fantastic. He is healthier just by his huge weightloss, although he has some other health issues that the band can't assist with. Best of luck to everyone.
