Whew, I had my band placed in April and only tried rice three weeks ago and I promise you, I will never eat it again. The worst pain in my life. I guess that was a lesson learned. I can not imagine eating it just after being banded....

Dr. Ortiz charges $100 for his fills under floro. For me that is a great price as I live in So Cal and it only takes me about 1 1/2 hours to get there.

Hey Miper70, I was banded the same day by Dr. Ortiz and I am in exactly the same boat as you. I started out with a lower BMI, it was 33. I was 200 pounds the day of surgery. I have lost a total of 12 pounds that I can keep off. I go down a few but then come back to that same 12 pounds. I have had two fills. The first I received 2 cc's however when I went for my second fill Dr. Romano could only pull back 1.8. My second fill he gave me more and I am up to 2.4. However I am still not loosing. I will be going back for my third fill in a week or so but I am hoping that it will kick in at week 2. Don't give up!!!! it is just a mater of time before we find our "sweet spot" but please know you are not alone.

Hello Wannabe, Thank you for the support, I really appreciate it. My surgeon is Dr. Ortiz in TJ. I live in San Juan Capistrano and although TJ is not too far from me, only about an hour and a half, I would really like to have a fill doctor a bit closer. I am sure, I will get at least my first fill or so from Dr Ortiz and then I might change to the Doctors in SanDiego. Who was your surgeon?

I am so glad to hear that. I am getting banded on the 14th of this month in MX and was wondering how the fillcenterUSA would work. I live in Orange County so that will work out great. I figured I would go to my first one or two fills with the doctor that is banding me and then I was going to try the doctor in Cardiff. Thanks for the information.
