  1. i'm not sure if you're looking for anything specific for vitamins...but i've been getting my vitamins online for several years - just regular vitamins. check out vitamins.com the prices are soooooooo reasonable. even if this isn't what you're looking for you may see something else, you won't believe how reasonable they are (the vitamins are puritans pride...good brand). good luck
  2. i believe there are 3 doctors in the syracuse area...2 at upstate & 1 at community. dr desimone is at community. his next seminar is 10.28 - his number is 315-492-5763. there is also upstate...dr's kim & simon. their number is 315-464-9852. good luck...keep me posted.
  3. are you in the syracuse area? what dr are you using? i'm jealous that you're so many steps ahead of me...but best of luck. feel free to email me at crazyoldladybug@hotmail.com if you'd like.
  4. first thing...call your insurance company. i wasted about a month...first made my appt with my family doctor only to find out i didn't need a referral. now i have to wait another 6 weeks or so before the seminar with the surgeon. my insurance told me what doctors in my area did the surgery & the hospital (within my plan). you can try to google surgeons in your area...try lapband.com - you can search for a dr. there. as far as expenses...depends on your area & what your ins. covers. i'm not an expert, i only know what mine covers. but i believe it's worth it...no, i take that back I'M worth it. i know people who have had the bypass surgery, i'm going with the band. i can't explain why...cuz they are my opinions & you have to research it all for yourself. i wish you the best of luck...
  5. i did the cabbage diet a few yrs ago. the only thing i lost was the money i spent for all the special foods & a lot of t.p.!!! but others have had luck. my ex's father did it...lost about 40# (of course he'd do it for a week...take a week off...do it another week & so on) one winter. kept it off to. i LOVE the soup...but after a while it gets bland. good luck to you.
  6. my seminar appt is for the end of oct. i've been reading posts to this site for quite some time now. i was ready to have it done months ago. i can't wait to have it done. i just hope i don't have to do the 6 month diet on my own thing first. i want so much to lose some weight before my daughters wedding in june. good luck to all of you & thank you to those who are giving support
  7. i'm planning on having mine done at community. nice to know there is someone in the area that's going to be going through this also . good luck with it...keep me posted.
  8. wow, God bless. i can't wait till i'm in your spot. i just began my journey yesterday. (talked to my ins. company). not sure where that's going to take me...but seeing people like you...makes me more sure of wanting to do this. i know what you mean about going without real food. i think my last meal before i start the liquid part - will be chinese...lol wow, i'm really jealous of you. keep us all posted, best of luck. :wink2::thumbup:
  9. wow, that really stinks. is there a way to go to a different psych dr? i'm kinda worried about that myself...of course most...& i do say "most" obese people are slightly depressed. going for this surgery is a way to become more positive. i hope all goes well for you...i'll keep you in my prayers. God bless.
  10. i just got off the phone with bcbs (i'm in ny...but they are about the same). inpatient is $250 copay...outpatient is $75 plus $25 for the dr. everything else was covered. i was under the impression with the woman i spoke with that bcbs wants you to know all your copays up front. give your ins. a call. good luck & God bless
  11. :smile2:i've read many encouraging posts. today i'm going to call the dr's office to set things in motion. i know i want to lose the weight & i'll do whatever it takes to get it done.
