  1. Well I am finally home. I am so glad that surgery is over, my doc said that my liver was perfect! I really have no appetite. I have to make myself drink, I hope that this changes soon. I hope to get back on soon, I am going to rest now.
  2. Thank you so much ! I am so grateful for this board. I will keep you all posted!
  3. Well I am very excited that the hospital called to give mem my surgery time. I need to be there at 7:30am in the morning. Yay! I was so excited until now. The PA from my doc's office called and said that there is an issue with my blood work. My billiruben levels are high. She then asked me if I had my gallbladder (which I don't), and that he would probably want to repeat these tests in the morning! I asked her if this would interfere with my surgery and she said that as of right now, everything is a go. She still needs to talk to the doc. Has anyone else had these issues? I think that dirty devil is just trying to rattle my nerves before I do this wonderful thing to change my life! Any info is greatly appreciated.
  4. I am currently on my two week preop and I admit that I thought that I would crack my skull open from fainting if I did not have 1 banana. I felt awful afterwards. Physically and mentally. Whew, it feels good to get that off my chest! I had not told a soul!
  5. He never set an amount. I am a cash patient so luckily I do not have to deal with insurance companies. The 2 week pre-op diet is 3-4 protein shakes a day, unlimited amounts of sugar free jello & Popsicles, low sodium broth, water, crystal lite, and only 1 low carb yogurt daily. It is pretty fierce! Good luck to you!
  6. Thank you! I will try that. I was mixing with milk. Blah!
  7. Whew! That's some relief! I want a very boring case myself :crying: I figure the less time that he is in there the less he is moving that port around causing soreness! Anyway, you look like you are doing well and I hope that you continue the good work! Talk to ya soon.
  8. You can get the cafe' Caramel milkshakes from Wal-Mart. They are in the medicine section, not the food side. They are 4 in a pack and they are around $6.50. I like to take a iced coffee cup from McDonalds and pour my Atkins over the ice and pretend that I am having the real thing. It's my treat! Try them, I love the taste!
  9. I do have a problem with the shakes. They make me want to vomit and give me awful BM's (tmi-sorry). I am doing better with the atkins rather than the
  10. Hey everybody, my name is Amy and i am from GA. I am currently on mission with my 2 week liquid pre-op diet. August 19th is my surgery date and I am really excited and afraid. I hope that myt liver shrinks enough to place the band because I am a cash patient and I really do not want to throw away 14K. This is my one shot. I am going to list my usual eating habits in a day and see if you guys think that I am on track. Breakfast - Atkins Protein drink (Cafe Caramel it's delicious) Water Snack - 1 sugar free Jello cup crystal lite lunch - Atkins Protein Drink water Snack - sugar free Popsicles(2) crystal lite dinner - 16oz egg drop Soup from local Chinese restaurant water Snack - more Popsicles (2) Ya'll let me know if you think that this diet will shrink my liver enough. I am so worried about that. :whatchutalkingabout I weighed in on July 24th at 243lbs and I am now at 236. I did not loose any weight until after beginning the 2 week preop diet. Thanks , I really appreciate any advice or opinions that you may have. Amy
