  1. Good luck to you all ! My name is Carey and I had surgery in the UK in a county called Kent on the 4th August, so I am 7 days post op. I am 52 and work for the National health service at my local hospital doing administration and training. I have two grown up sons of 21 and 24 and a loving husband of 28 yrs. Felt quite weak after surgery but getting stronger and stronger each day now. Pain has almost gone, but still full of gas hoping that will pass soon. I have been quite hungry post op on my liguid diet but its getting easier, Protein shakes are not easy to buy in the uk, so I bought some protien whey powder for making fruit smoothies, but I am graving a savoury drink. Do you think I can mix Protein Powder with a stock cube. I will try and see what happens. Lost 7 pounds pre op and 8 pounds post op, with a 140 pounds to go. carden xx
  2. thanks for your replies it helps to know its normal, guess I will know soon enough if it is going to subside. Cazden x
  3. Hi I am 6 days post op the pain has subsided a lot in the port area but the gas is really getting me down. I don't think its the gas from the surgery as I don't get it unless I drink. Still on fluids for another week, does any body know why I am getting trapped gas and burping after even one sip of Water. As the day goes on it gets worse and worse and more and more difficult to pass. Can any body help or tell me if this stops as I cannot go back to work in a week and keep burping out loud like a man. Any advise or same experience would be so good!! Carden
