  1. How's everyone doing? I had my RNY on 6/6/22 and feel very fortunate that the only issue I had was an allergic reaction to the iodine prep they do before they start surgery. I broke out in itchy hives from chest to crotch. 3 days of prednisone and Vistaril and I am as good as new. Just started my multi vitamin, that is hard because it is like eating chalk but I choke it down along with my Omeprazole each morning. Not being able to chug my water is challenging but I find if I put lots of ice in my cup it causes me to drink it slower. I found this stuff called Dr. Berg's Nutritional Yeast, it is so good! 2 tbs has 11 grams of protein, so I tend to add it to almost everything, such as soup, Riccota bake, and eggs. I do not get hungry so I have set a timer for every 2 hrs so I eat and my main focus is on protein, making sure I get 80 grams in a day. HW 279 SW 250 CW 240 GW 155 Hope you are doing well!!

  5. Hi everyone, hope you all are doing well. I had my pre op appt and lab work yesterday, insurance approval letter arrived yesterday as well! I have to get my COVID test tomorrow and then self quarantine till surgery. Looks like everything is a go for 6/6/22, My surgery is at 7:30 am PST. I'm surprisingly not nervous or having anxiety about the surgery itself. My anxiety is due to after the procedure. I've done better than I expected myself to do on the full liquid diet, down 12 Lbs down in 11 days. I have to switch to clear liquids on Sunday with drinking 28 oz of Gatorade before bedtime and then 24 oz of Gatorade before 5:30 am the day of. I'm so excited for all of us and to hear about everyone's journey after surgery.
  6. You got this, the first 2 to 3 days are the roughest of the pre op diet but after that it is good. I'm with you on the 10 yr yo you of weightloss.
  7. Good, I am down 7 lbs in 7 days. I do not really get hungry anymore, but I do get lightheaded from time to time and am weak when I try to do exercise.
  8. Same, hope you are surviving the pre op diet !
  9. Today is day 7 of pre op diet, I am no longer dealing with hunger pains. I do get a little lightheaded if I try to do anything to physical, ie. help move the dog house, and stairs suck. I am down to 254.9 so I have lost 7 lbs.

  16. I'm not happy about no caffeine either but I understand why. I'm worried about being around people while I am in pain, I do not do well with people helping me. My doctor said 2 weeks minimum but I am hoping less as I'd rather use my PTO for other things. lol?
  17. I was told 2 weeks minimum because I am having Laparoscopic RNY
  18. Hi there, I've had to do the following in order to get my surgery date. Colonoscopy (turned 50), Barium Swallow test, Extensive blood work, Psychology test, 3 nutritionist consults, 1 psychology consult, Sleep study and I was required to lose 15 lbs. My cost after insurance for all of this was 5321.00. Ask questions, so that you are not surprised by the next requirement.
  19. We are surgery date twins!. I'm in Oregon! I'm very nervous about the diet changes and my bodies reaction to foods after the surgery. I'm the type of person that researches everything, so I purchased The High-Protein Bariatric Cookbook by Staci Gulbin. Reading it has helped me feel a bit more prepared but I know not much will mentally prepare me.
  20. Hi there, mine is June 6, 2022. Congrats on your surgery date.
