  1. I start soft food on Tuesday! What’s everyone’s favorite foods to try at this stage?
  2. Puree foods are so filling. I’m supposed to have 6 meals a day, 65g protein, and 600-800 calories. This seems impossible this early. They also don’t recommend protein shakes but I’m needing to use them to meet my protein goals. I’m 20 days post op. I’m mostly getting my protein goal and water goal, but I cannot even imagine getting to 800 calories. I usually average around 450 now.
  3. I’m not there yet, but I’m on puree and i feel like that after a few bites. I take it means I’m full.
  4. The recommendation was to walk at least every 4 hours. I feel like I get up way more often than that but haven’t timed it since the first week. My doc gives you a shot in the hospital for blood thinners and then a pill for 30 days to help with blood clots too!
  5. I am so excited. Day 15 and started the puree stage. Make scrambled eggs with egg substitute and fat free cheese and so far so good!
  6. My plan actually says any full liquids do not count toward my 64 ounce goal. I wonder if that’s just to get us used to getting that in outside of protein shakes
  7. Sams Club has protein Gatorade on sale! I drink one every morning so I stocked up!
  8. Yay! So glad you’re feeling good. I look forward to this. I took short term disability and have 6 weeks off so at least I’m off work struggling through this
  9. My nutritionist told me I needed to be getting 600-800 calories and I’m on full liquids. Pretty sure that’s impossible. Thankfully puree starts on Tuesday! I’m sure I’ll feel so much better if I can get to 900 calories
  10. Anyone else? I napped 2 hours yesterday and then slept at least 12 hours last night. I want to start regular walks but I can barely walk 15 minutes right now. I’m on full liquids. Does it get better once you hit purée? Any tips?
  11. Ohh so exciting! I cannot wait to start purées on Tuesday. Let us know how soft foods go!
  12. True. Good point and def no complaints lol. My office told me consistent dieting prior to the surgery making small changes impacts the liver just as much as a liquid diet. They only require you to avoid fatty foods and eat as lean and green as possible 2 weeks prior. Just liquid one day before. My liver was perfect doing that! I was super nervous that it wouldn’t be seeing everyone else on liquid or extreme calorie restriction lol
  13. I can actually have pudding, oatmeal, cottage cheese and yogurt in my full liquid stage. I think my doctor is very different than most considering I didn’t have to do a liquid diet pre-op either.
  14. I started reading backward and answered my own questions @doobies31 lol
  15. Are you on full liquids? I was curious how many calories people are getting. I seem to be at 350 - 375
  16. I was 6/27 and I’m waiting for this. I read nearly everyone stalls around week 3 so it’s normal.
  17. DAY 6 post op and today is the first day I would say that I feel pretty good. Not back to normal of course but I don’t feel lethargic. I actually went on a 30 minute walk! It’s crazy how quickly you can go from barely being able to move to minimal pain and discomfort. 11 lbs down from surgery date too.
  18. TMI, maybe, but Is anyone having any trouble with diarrhea? I took miralax on day 3 and I went to the bathroom probably 5 or 6 times yesterday (day 4) and at day 5 I’ve already went several times. Definitely feeling a bit light headed as I met my protein goal yesterday but only 40 ounces of water…
  19. You’re already working out? That’s amazing! I’m day 4 PO and I still have a lot of discomfort. What day were you when you did aerobics?
  20. Does anyone have itchiness around any of their incisions? Mine are glued and obviously I’m not scratching them but for some reason my largest feels so itchy today (day 4 post op)
  21. Oh wow! You went to work on day 5! I totally get the stomach thing. I have a 4 year old who I keep telling about my surgery but it’s hard for them to understand.
  22. How long did everyone’s pain last? I’m just day 1 post op but my incisions hurt sooo when I move
