  1. I am jumping in a little late. I just got my second fill last week and still not too much restriction so mostly doing this on will power still. I get another fill in 3 weeks so hopefully, that will be the one for me and the weight will come off easier and faster. I need this motivation! Thanks guys.
  2. Hi everyone! I was banded 3/20. I am really excited to be getting my first fill next Wednesday and boy do I need it. The past few days I know I am able to eat way more than I should. I haven't gained any, but haven't lost much since surgery either. Hope everyone is hanging in there. It won't be much longer now before these bands really start working for us :sneaky:
  3. I just made something yummy for lunch. I am having a hard time being creative with the mushies. I took a can of chicken and added a little mayo and put that in the food processor. It was yummy and filling. I think I might try some egg salad puree tonight . Any other suggestions for something easy and quick to mush?
  4. You poor thing with that awful flu! My kids all had it last week and I ended up getting it for one day but not throwing up, just the other end which I could totally deal with. Glad you are feeling better. I am definitely starting to feel more normal and feeling happier then I have in a long time
  5. Yes, do call your doctor. They can give you something for the nausea and vomiting. It might be from the anesthetic from surgery. I did this two or three times too and the medication stopped it. You will be very sore and miserable the first day or two. It does get better. Day 3/4 was a big turning point for me. Take your pain meds too. They help a lot! Hope you are feeling better soon.
  6. Ack! I totally messed up my weight ticker and now can't figure out how to fix it. Oops.
  7. I went for my post op appt today and my doc said I could have mushies! I never thought I would be so happy to eat mashed sweet potatoes in my whole life. He wants me on mushies for two weeks, then regular food for a week and then back to see him to see if I need a fill or not. I was able to sleep on my tummy last night for the first time but was uncomfortable when I turned over so may wait another night or two to do that again. How are you guys doing?
  8. Hi everyone! I was banded on the 20th too. How are you all doing? Each day is getting better. I broke down and had a bit of thicker liquids today as I was already hungry (yogurt, cream soup). It helped a lot. Still some gas pains but getting better. I heard day 7 is another big turning point in how it feels, so I am looking forward to Friday
  9. Hi Cheri! I am a March 20th bandster. Got home today. I will send you a private message
  10. That's my biggest fear between now and next Friday. Getting sick. There have been all kinds of yucky things going around and I am just praying they stay away from me! Hope you sore throat is nothing and goes away soon.
  11. Welcome! I am getting banded on March 20th :mad2: The first two days on the preop diet were really tough for me too. I was nauseated and had headaches. By day three I turned the corner and am feeling better. I am still sneaking in about a half a soda a day but plan to be soda free by this Friday. I hope you feel better soon and that day 3 is the turning point for you too!
  12. Hi everyone! I posted on the other longer March thread before I saw this new one. I am from Maryland and getting banded on 3/20. Began this journey last July, so I am happy to be so close now. I tore my meniscus last Oct and had that repaired in January so that held me up a bit but I am ready. Have been on the preop liquid (with one meal of chicken and veggies) last Friday and feeling better than I did the first 2 days but am hungry today. I come here for support and encouragement as this board really helps me get through the hard days. :mad2:
  13. Checking to see if ticker worked.
  14. Hi all! I am jumping in here a little late, but am going to be a March Bandster as well. I started my journey last July and had to have knee surgery in January so that put me behind about a month. I am happy to say though that my paperwork was submitted to insurance on 3/2 and I was lucky enough to get approval on 3/4. I started my 2 week liquid diet on 3/6 to prepare for my Lap Band date of 3/20!!! Yippee. I have enjoyed reading the posts here and hope that those of you who have had your surgery already are all doing well. I am going to go try to add the ticker and Lucky Losers symbol now.
  15. Thanks for the welcome. It's nice to meet you Shannon. I'm Kim. I will be starting the pre op diet on Friday. That's awesome about the pre surgery weight loss! Your date is getting close! I look forward to follow your progress and talking to another mom to a big family. Good luck with your surgery and let me know how it goes.
  16. Hi everyone. I wanted to introduce myself. I started my journey last July with my first appointment with my primary care doctor. He has been amazing and supportive and has given me no trouble at all regarding the many referrals I have asked for and the note he had to write for insurance. I just received word today that I am authorized through my insurance for the surgery and have been given a surgery date of 3/20/09. I have had a few bumps in the road along the way (knee surgery) but am feeling better and ready to have the surgery and begin my new life. I need to figure out how to put one of those ticker thingies on and will try to do in a bit. I have been checking in here occasionally and have learned a lot and am excited to share this journey with you all. I can't believe it's almost finally here. Yay!
