I started on this journey in January 2008 with my first seminar with Dr. WeinsteinI was determined to do what I needed to do to have this surgery,so after my first visit with Dr. Forrest Ringold in 4/2008 I decided to go foward with this.. Dr. Ringold recommended that I have GastricBypass due to my weight being what it was at the time but I refused. I knew what I wanted and I felt very confident that I coulddo this.. I completed my 6 months with my primary physican in September of2008 and submitted all necessary paperwork for BC/BS of Ala.  Unfortunatley my paper workwas not processed when everything was turned in so I called back on December 17, 2008 with questions of what was going on because I had not heard anything...Within minutes of getting off the phone with Carol, the InsuranceRep. I was approved... I had to wait until Jan. for an appointment due to the holidays; but I didnt care because this wasthe best gift that I could have received...On Jan. 12,2008 I visited Dr. Ringold again...On that day my surgery was scheduled..I weighed 403 pounds.. My surgery was scheduled on Feb.3, 2009 I weighed 387 pounds....As of today I have lost a total of 130lbs...I am actually loving life again....
