  1. Joiful-I think that is probably your port on the left side that is hurting. I only got banded on the 24th but the Dr. and nurses said I might have extra soreness around the port area! You seem to be doing ok. You aren't throwing up or having really bad heart burn, are you?
  2. Hi July Butterflies! I found at a Hi Health store a drink called ISOPURE. They taste like Kool-Aids...so you feel like your being bad Anyway, they have 40 grams of protein, zero carbs and keeps you hydrated. It has done wonders for me! Good Luck everyone! I hope this helps!
  3. Hi Orea15! How do I get the ticker and July Butterflies banner on my posts?
  4. Hi Babysoftly! I was able to sleep on my right side and lay down flat last night, hooray!! I just weighed myself and I have lost 5 lbs. since Thursday....but a good burger always sounds good! LOL
  5. I was banded on the 24th of July. I have been reading all of your posts and that is what has kept me going these past few days. Everyday gets easier and easier. Anyway, I was always on the skinny side while growing up and through my twenty's. When I turned 32 and had my 4th child is when I started having problems with my weight. I also had high cholesterol and diabetes. So, after trying myself for 6 years I decided I needed help. My mother and my aunt both had gastric bypass and I knew I didn't want to go that route. I started researching about the lap band earlier this year and decided that it sounded right for me. I have been married to a very supportive man for the last 9 and 1/2 years. I have a 17 year old boy, 13 year old girl, a 9 year old girl and a 6 year old girl. I work at the school my two youngest attend so I feel like I am with them everyday. My surgery went well. No real complaints. I just was surprised that I couldn't move very well...I guess that's because I never had any real surgery before.:biggrin2: I hope everyone who is getting banded next week does well and my thoughts and prayers are with you! Kari
  6. I was banded the 24th of July as well. We are at the same point. I thought there was only about 2 days of down time but I see that it takes a couple weeks. Its nice to see I'm not the only one who feels like a whiny baby!!
  7. Hi San Diego Susan! I was banded 24th of July. I am new here and it has helped a lot reading what everyone else is going through...I know I'm not alone in this journey! I am still quite sore but each day gets a little better!
  8. I am very nervous. I have my surgery in the morning (7/24). I am also very excited. I would love to hear from someone that can tell me what to expect tomorrow (anything that the Dr or nurse forgot to tell me). Thank you! Kari
  9. Hi Jenecye! I am also in AZ and I go in the morning for my surgery and I am SO nervous! I'll let you know how things go! Kari
  10. Well, I am getting banded July 24th....YES, tomorrow!! I will only be a week ahead of you....I would love to still be part of the August all stars:) Kari
  11. Hello! I am having my band put on tomorrow(7/24) and I am very nervous! If there is anything you think I should know (that sometimes the Dr or nurses forget to tell you). Please let me know. Thank you! Kari
