  2. Hey Beth,

I was just checking in on you to see how things are going. I just had my first fill yesterday...that was interesting, but I am ready to kick it in high gear. He put in 6.3 cc's for my first fill..I thought that was a lot but I'm gonna see how I do. Have you had any fills yet? I'm down right around 40lbs and hoping to loose another 20 by xmas *fingers crossed*.

All for now, hope all is well with you!

  3. thank you for posting this. I was wondering what route I should take after my 2 days of liquids. I just had my first fill yesterday and I am still not even close to being hungry or thirsty, I am having to make myself drink.
  4. Hey Everyone, I am going on a trip to Univeral Studios Island Of Adventures this weekend and I am wondering if anyone has gone on extreme up-side-down rollercoasters with their bands?

    Slider foods

what are you eating for your other meals? There are other low carb options that are fast and easy for luch like chicken or tuna salad, string cheese sticks, lunch meat / cheese rollups (I dip them in Mayo) Sugar Free Jello with Redi Whip If your not getting hungry before dinner you should be good to go but if you are then you need to think of other things to eat.

thanks I feel better now :tt1: Island of Adventures really does have some hairy roller coasters right up there with Six Flags over Atlanta so I am glad I will be able to ride them

    Slider foods

I am 3 months post op as well and I eat whatever I want. I have no restrictions regarding my diet accept my 30 grams of non vegetable carbs per day. I have eaten things like a cheeseburger from Mc'Ds and I have had pizza but I went for the thin crust. I haven't had a fill yet as my MD and I are happy with my weight loss thus far. Although these past 2 weeks I have been really struggling to stay within my carb limit so I am thinking of getting a fill on my next appt 9/30

    "Woman" question!

I'm right there too..and I even have cravings now like I never had before...good glory it's all I can do not to eat the kitchen sink lol
  9. Congrats on the surgery. I did find after about the 3rd week I could literally eat ANYTHING I wanted including a McD's mighty kid double cheese happy meal (shame) I think I had to mentally see I was going to be able to eat those things because I know for me once I CAN'T eat something that is all I want to eat. I try my best to do low carb which is hard to do with kids. I now bring a little stylish lunchbox everywhere I go and I fill it with things I can eat...Like string cheese sticks, lunch meat and cheese roll ups with a small container of mayo to dip it in. My biggest struggle is drinking my water..I am not big drinker to begin so Dr Baptista suggested I drink before I eat and that has really helped and it even helps me stay full longer. It's not easy that's for sure...I have to be aware everyday of what I am putting in my mouth..however if I want a cookie I have ONE otherwise I will eat everything just to not eat that one cookie lol. Keep me posted on your progress :)

  10. Hey Teresa,

Just dropping in to see how you are doing. I have had a really busy summer so I am hoping things settle down now that school is back in session and I can be on here more often. I am doing good...had my 3rd f/u appt with Dr. Baptista today and I am down a total of 38 lbs from the start of my journey and 23 lbs since surgery on 6/19 it has been a little slow but chugging along. I haven't gotten a fill yet because Dr. Baptista is happy with my progress and the percentage of my fat loss. So we shall see! Hows things been going with you?

  11. Hey Beth,

Just dropping a quick note to see how you are doing. I have had a really busy summer with the family and now back to a normal routine and hoping to be on here more often. How did things go with the surgery??? I am down a total of 38 lbs and finally hit Onderland YEAH!!!

  12. Hey All, I am so nervous...I go for my first fill tomorrow!!! Can you guys and gals tell me what to expect after the fill as far as dietary restrictions and all....I want to make sure I am prepared. Wish me luck...I am so nervous I could throw up lol

    camping food ideas????

We went camping Fourth of July weekend...I was able to eat burgers & Hot Dogs like the rest of them I just didn't eat the bun. Also I brought baked Beans and made fresh veggies via a pouch over the fire...Squash, Broccoli, and Cauliflower. Tuna is a good quick thing to take also cottage cheese

    Options for removal - advice

I understand your concerns regarding the Insurance...however I would think that if it was medically necessary to have the band removed your insurance regardless would cover the surgery. Your not having surgery to put it in (which is more unique for insurances to cover) I imagine your surgeons office has come across the same scenerio I would ask them.
  17. Hi Teresa...I am good, I feel good. I did loose the 5lbs that I gained after soft foods and I think I have lost an additional 3 more lbs. Thanks for the heads up about the fill..I go tomorrow for my first one and let me tell you I am NERVOUS!!! I honestly don't know where my port is..I haven't "found" it yet. So I haven't been told but what are the diet restrictions after you get a fill?

  18. davidsmom08

    Bummed out

yes I gained 5 lbs when I switched to mushies. I go for my first fill tomorrow...I have since lost those 5lbs and maybe 2 or 3 more.
  19. I had my surgery first thing on a friday morning and I was back to work the following Wed....I could have forced myself to go back to work on Tues but I really am glad I took an extra day as I felt much better on Wed then I did on Tues. Keep in mind that my MD did my surgery with only 1 incision and I have a real lax desk job and was able to take a nap on my lunch break. I used liquid tylenol during the day to ensure I wasn't in any pain.
  20. mine is no my left...only bothers me when I am bending way over to shave or dry my legs

July 4th weekend is over...THANK GOODNESS

whew...glad that weekend is over..my weekend was full of camping and fun in the sun with a large group of about 30 people and you know what that means...food food and more food...oh yeah and then desert and drinking and oh wait...more freaking food. I think I did well. I brought my own snacks and made sure to stay away from most starchy things during meals...if I went for sliders like the chips and dip it was just one or two. Got home and weighed myself this morning and I think I might have even lost a pound or two woohoo!!!
