  1. So bummed today. Yesterday my doc and anesthesiologist called me in to say we needed to move the surgery because of hormone issues I'm having. I've gotten the whole apartment prepped and bought my liquids, and now I don't know how long until I'll be cleared for surgery. I'm glad they are being safe, but now I don't know what to do. I'm self-pay and if they have to postpone for a long time, maybe I should just go through with the insurance hoops? Does anyone have any history with this?
  2. The water struggle is REAL! My trick is incorporating it as a habit when I do anything. Get up from my desk? Sip water. Sit down to my desk? Sip water. Go to the bathroom? Sip water. It becomes habitual enough that you can usually get enough in. Also, trying to get about 75% of your water before midday is a tip I've heard others share.
  3. Twins! Mine will be 11/19 too! We are going to do great!
  4. CARETAKER ADVICE, PLEASE: I'm spending the first 24 hours in a recovery center, but after that I'm going home to my apartment. I live alone, and I have a friend picking me up and checking in on me post-surgery, but no one in my apartment. Did you need help from someone who needed to BE there after the first 24 hours? I'm generally a recovery hermit who prefers not to have people in my orbit when I'm not feeling well, but my sister is trying to convince me she needs to fly in to take care of me. Who wants awful gas pains with company?
  5. I’ve put that on my list! Thanks for the tips! Good luck tomorrow. You’ve got this!
  6. I have my surgery on 11/19 with Dr. Misra in Beverly Hills, CA. I’m 33, 6’2” and a touch over 400lbs. I’m totally stoked to have my surgery and am getting all set up to have a boring thanksgiving alone! My doctor requested I get a sleep study and endoscopy before surgery so I’m doing that this week. I’ve only told my close family and couple friends so far.
