  1. I have a 6 year old son, I told him that I was having the surgery to help mommy get healthy so we can play more and run. I also told him that this is also going to help mommy eat healthy and his response was that he wanted to eat the same things as me and he was fine with the whole thing. Your kids will be ok and this will be a positive thing. Just remeber that.
  2. The only thing I can think of is that you aren't eating enough. If you are excersing and everything you have to make sure that you have enough fuel in your body or your body will shut down. I personally live on the protein shakes, I have two a day and very little of anything else, maybe a tablespoon or 2 of mashed potatoes or green beans. I know that my doctor said that if you are working out then you definately need to make sure you are getting enough protein. Maybe this will help. It will all be worth it in the end it is just going to take time. Don't discouraged...
  3. I thought that I was losing my mind a few times, it is good to see that I wasn't the only one going through the mood swings and wanting to crawl out of my skin. The best thing I did was keep a journal and look back on it when I have those days. I had my surgery on 9-8-08 and I still have days where I cry for no reason and it feels like the world is falling apart. Just remember that in 6 months from now you will feel like a NEW you and how happy you will be. It will all be worth it. Take Care and best of luck..
  4. Hi there- I had the same problem, I had my surgery on 9/8 and it took me 3 weeks to finally go. The doctor recommended Miralax. Also make sure you drink plenty of fluids. Hope you feel better....
  5. Hi- I want to commend you on wanting to take care of yourself now and be able to live for your family. Just remember you can do anything you put your mind to. I had my band done 9/8/08 and it is the best thing I have ever decided to do. I am hoping that my husband will see that this works and also have it done. He is the same as you 6'4" and around 330 and yes by looking at him he doesn't look as heavy as he is. I wish he would do it for a healthier life style. My big reason for having it done is my 6 year old son. I want to be able to run and play with him!! I wish you the best of luck. Nicole
  6. No jewlery and no nail polish. I had my surgery on the 8th. Good Luck to you!!!!
  7. I had mine on the 8th and I am now starting to feel like myself again. It takes about a week to get back to yourself. The area where the port is feels the worst, that is because they did most of the work there and it is a larger incision. It will get better. Keep positive and get better soon.
  8. Hi There- I had my band done on 9/8, I have a really hard time getting all the fluids in. I try very hard to so I don't dehydrate. It will get easier with time, you have to remember you are still healing. My gas pains subsided about a day ago. Good luck with your journey!!!
  9. Hi There- Great Job on the 15 pounds!!! I totally understand where you are coming from. I have been on this pre-op diet for almost 11 days and I have only lost 8 pounds (very disappointing since I have followed it to the T) and I also am on Hormone Replacement Therapy so I had to stop my medication cold turkey and I am not someone you want to be around right now. I don't know if it is the HRT or the diet. I am so cranky and short tempered and I get frustrated easily. I thought I hope that it is not like this forever because who likes to feel this way. I am having surgery monday the 8th. I just wanted to let you know that I feel for you... Keep up the good work... What is your pre-op diet like? Nicole:thumbup:
  10. Hi Congratulations!! My surgery is on the same day. Did you start your pre-op diet yet? Good Luck to you!!! Nicole
